Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the king and queen of the Hollywood philanthropy sect - the pair donated over $6.8 million to various charities in 2008.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the power couple's Jolie-Pitt Foundation earned just over $13 million last year.

A tax return obtained for the organization shows half that amount was donated to charities, including $2 million to non-profit Global Health, and another $1 million to both Human Rights Watch and Pitt's Make it Right Foundation, a fund created to help build homes in the movie couple's adopted, Hurricane-ravaged New Orleans, Louisiana.

They also gave $500,000 to the Armed Services YMCA (The Young Men's Christian Association), $50,000 to public schools in Pitt's native Springfield, Missouri and approximately another $1 million to projects in Cambodia, where Jolie adopted eight-year-old Maddox, who has since become Pitt's son too.
