Alex Rodriguez, the baseball star romantically linked to Madonna, has
reportedly asked his wife for a divorce.
The 34-year-old sportsman allegedly told his wife Cynthia he wanted to end
their five-year marriage because Madonna - whose marriage to Guy Ritchie is
also said to be on the rocks - is his "spiritual soulmate".
A source close to Alex - who was seen without his wedding ring earlier this
week - told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Alex said he and Madonna are
spiritual soulmates, and she has helped introduce him to Kabbalah."
Cynthia is now said to have fled to France to stay with musician Lenny
Kravitz, a close family friend.
The source added: "In recent weeks, Alex has remained in New York while
Cynthia has been at their mansion in Miami. She went to Paris after Lenny
offered a shoulder to cry on over her split. Cynthia is devastated and
needed to get away."

According to a family friend, "tearful" Cynthia believes Madonna
brain-washed Alex.
The pal told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Cynthia said, 'I feel like Madonna is using mind control over him. I don't recognize the man he has
become. He was a sweet, beautiful, loving husband and father. Today he's very cold and calculating..' "
"I believe he was having an affair with Madonna," Cynthia told a friend, who spoke anonymously for fear of angering A-Rod. "She said she found a letter where Alex told Madonna: 'You are my true soulmate.'"
Alex - who last year was rumored to be having an affair with a stripper -
is said to have become friendly with Madonna, 49, after they met at a gym.
Madonna's spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg, has denied the relationship
reports, insisting the pair are "just friends".
She said: "Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They know
each other and Madonna took her kids to a New York Yankees game last week.
There's really not anything to comment beyond that."
Liz also denied that Madonna and Guy are set to divorce, following
persistent rumors that have dogged the couple for weeks.
Meanwhile, rocker Lenny Kravitz - who has been linked with Madonna in the past - has
dismissed rumors of a romance between him and Cynthia.
He said: "There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and
myself. This is unequivocally 100 per cent not true. Cynthia is a friend and
is here with the godfather of her baby, who is also Alex's trainer, his wife
and their baby girl."
Cynthia gave birth to the couple's second child, Ella Alexander, in April.
Britney Spears is reportedly back with old flame Adnan Ghalib.
The couple split shortly after her meltdown earlier this year, when Britney
allegedly found texts on the British photographer's phone from another
woman.
However, she has now reportedly been seeing him again in secret.
According to celebrity gossip website TMZ, Adnan has been seen sneaking into
the Los Angeles' gated community where the 26-year-old star lives.
The couple have also been constantly texting each other, complaining about
the control Britney's father Jamie - who is co-conservator of her estate -
has over the singer's life.
The report claims Jamie disapproves of the relationship and doctors have
warned that Adnan is potentially a bad influence on his daughter.
Meanwhile, Britney's friend Mel Gibson reportedly wants her to date his son.
The pair recently holidayed together and Mel hoped the break would bring
Britney closer to his son Ed - who has turned his life around after a recent
spell in rehab for cocaine and alcohol addiction.
A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Mel felt Ed would be a great
influence on Britney, and if the relationship turned into romance, all the
better.
"He sincerely believed that his son could help Britney stay on the straight
and narrow and that they might hit it off as a couple as well."
However, Britney wasn't happy with the plan and hid from the duo when they
called to her house.
The source added: "She hid from them for most of the night. Mel and his son
spent most of their evening talking to her bodyguards."
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's marriage is reportedly on the rocks.
The couple - who tied the knot two months ago following a whirlwind
six-month romance - are said to already be arguing about Mariah's demanding
behaviour.
A source said: "Nick is basically around to attend to her diva-ish ways.
When they were in Hawaii where Mariah was filming the video for 'I'll Be
Lovin' U', Nick dashed off to buy her gifts at Tiffany and Co. and Louis
Vuitton to keep her happy."
When 39-year-old Mariah injured herself during the shoot, Nick was right by
her side.
The source added to America's OK! magazine: "He helped Mariah out of the
pool. She looked like she was going to cry."
Mariah is also reportedly taking control of 27-year-old Nick's career, and
is keen to promote his musical ability with high-profile performances.
An insider said: "Nick had signed on to perform at a sweet-sixteen party
before he and Mariah got married. But now Mariah needs to oversee and
approve his career moves.
"There are no more silly small-time gigs. She wants him to do big venues and
projects. She definitely wears the pants in the relationship."

Madonna has reportedly refused to let husband Guy Ritchie move to New York.
The 'Give It 2 Me' singer is said to have turned down the British director's
plea to leave their London home and be with her in the US, saying she still
wants to end the marriage.

According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Madonna allegedly said: "You're
not coming. I still want a divorce. Stay in London."
However, the 49-year-old singer's publicist Liz Rosenberg has strongly
denied the rumor.
She said: "This conversation never took place between Madonna and Guy. There's
no break-up or divorce plan and they live together when work allows them
to."
A source claims Guy's proposal was a last chance attempt to save his
marriage. It is believed he will now remain at the couple's London home or
1,200-acre Wiltshire estate.
The pop superstar has allegedly bought another apartment in New York in her
maiden name and is renovating it to accommodate children Lourdes, 11, Rocco,
seven, and adopted son David, two.
The source said: "Guy did a lot of soul-searching after Madonna asked him
for a divorce and thought he may be able to salvage the situation by
agreeing to leave London full-time for the Big Apple.
"He knew it was a long shot but he will do anything to keep the family
together. Yet no sooner had he told her than she said it wasn't an option
any more.
"It's all very sad but Guy is now resigned to them living apart."

The "Let Love Rule" singer, in a statement released Thursday morning, said he's letting the Yankee slugger's estranged wife stay at his place in Paris - but simply as a friend.
"There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself," Kravitz said. "This is unequivocally 100 percent not true."
Kravitz said references to him as an adulterer were "extremely hurtful," adding that Cynthia came to stay at his home "to escape from everything happening in New York City."

The actor has quashed rumors he is quitting Hollywood to return to stand-up
comedy.
His spokesperson said: "Eddie is not retiring. 'Beverly Hills Cop IV' is in

The 'Nutty Professor' star is desperate to rescue the 'Beverly Hills Cop'
franchise after the "horrible" third installment.
Speaking to MTV, Eddie said: "The third 'Beverly Hills Cop' was horrible! I
didn't want to leave it like that. The first two were cool and the third one
was s****y. Let's get the franchise fixed again, clean up this old mess and

Ashlee Simpson is reportedly expecting a baby boy.
The 'Pieces of Me' singer - who married Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz in a
secret ceremony in May - has listed her baby requirements on a gift register
at exclusive Los Angeles baby boutique Petit Tresor, and they seem to be for
a boy.
A source said: "Almost everything is blue. They made it very clear that it
was a boy."
When the couple visited the store, they bought a selection of T-shirts and
bibs from the Plain Mary collection with the words, 'Hunk', 'Loved' and
'Yummy' emblazoned on the front.
Ashlee and Pete are set to visit the baby boutique again next week to
discuss the nursery.
Pete recently revealed he is keen to find out the sex of his baby.
He said: "I'd like to know the sex of the baby. It would be a bummer if you
bought a boy a bunch of pink stuff!"
However, the 29-year-old musician hinted he and Ashlee were expecting twins
after referring to his unborn baby as "them".
He said: "We've been keeping a book so far, like a journal for them - for
them when they're, uh, born."
