Brad Pitt congratulates Jennifer on engagement

Brad Pitt sent Jennifer Aniston his congratulations on the news of her engagement.

The 48-year-old star spoke with his ex-wife, who he split from in 2005, to say how pleased he was to hear the news she is marrying actor Justin Theroux, who proposed at his 41st birthday dinner on Friday.



A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Brad gave Jen a quick call to say how pleased he was to hear that she was getting married.

"He jokingly asked if he should 'save the date', and they both laughed, but told her in all seriousness that he was really happy for her and Justin.

"He wished her luck and told her he hopes they're very happy together."

Brad is also set to marry his partner, Angelina Jolie - who he started dating shortly after splitting from Jennifer - in the coming weeks, and she also wished him well.

The source added: "Brad and Angelina are due to marry in the next few weeks and she wished him all the best for his wedding, too."

Although Jennifer, 43, and Brad don't speak too often, it is thought his mother, Jane, may still get an invite to her wedding, as they remained friends after the separation.

The source said: "Brad and Jen don't get in touch that often as they've both moved on with their lives.

"Jen does still chat to his mum, Jane, so there are rumors in Hollywood that she will make an appearance at the wedding.

"But the guest list hasn't even been started yet, so it's too early to say for sure."

Jennifer Aniston: A ‘Perfect Life’ Is A ‘Cliche’

Jennifer Aniston says there's no such thing as a "perfect life".

The 43-year-old actress is in a relationship with actor Justin Theroux and although she is always quizzed about when she is going to remarry or start a family she doesn't worry about other people's expectations of her.

Instead, Jennifer has learned to just enjoy life if she is happy because there's no point always searching for something else.

When asked if she is bothered that her personal life is always being scrutinised, she told the new issue of GQ Spain: "A perfect life? I think that's sort of cliche, isn't it? Like, if you want to be happy, you should have the house, the husband, the kid ... Kids are messy!"

Jennifer was previously married to Brad Pitt - who is now engaged to Angelina Jolie, with whom he raises six kids with.

Things are getting serious between Jennifer and Justin - who started dating in May 2011 - and the former 'Friends' star recently bought a $21 million in Beverly Hills for the couple to live in.

The property, which comes with its own vineyard, is currently being refurbished before they move in.

Ironically enough Jennifer had a lot to say about her man Justin Theroux in a recent interview with InStyle magazine. Jen revealed: "We're trying to live between both coasts. I want to see friends more and travel more. I say that every year, but this year, I’m going to do it!" She added: "Having experienced everything you don’t want in a partner over time, it starts to narrow down to what you actually do want.
