Pamela Anderson is going to tickle turkeys for Thanksgiving.

The former 'Baywatch' actress - who is a well known animal rights activist - wants to encourage people to stop eating the bird on the annual holiday, which takes place on the fourth Thursday of November, and will be spending some one-on-one time with animals instead.

She said: "I go to the Gentle Barn and hang out with the turkeys. I tickle them under the wings and I sit them on my lap, and I feed them pumpkin pie."



In addition to saving turkeys, Pamela - who was born in Canada where Thanksgiving is celebrated in October - is keen to highlight the plight of the horses in New York who draw carriages of tourists around the city, as she thinks it is an outdated practice.

She told the New York Post newspaper: "They don't do it in London anymore. They don't do it in Toronto or Paris, and we're still doing it in New York. It seems very behind the times."

Animal-lover Pamela recently adopted a stray dog from the slums of India, and urged other people to consider doing the same.

She said: "I'm thrilled to be able to give Pyari a loving home. I already have rescued dogs, and I urge everyone to join me in adopting a homeless dog from their local animal shelter or the streets instead of buying a so-called 'pedigree'."

Pamela Anderson is struggling to stay celibate.

The 45-year-old blonde bombshell vowed to give up sex until November for the duration of 'Dancing with the Stars: All Stars', but is finding it an impossible task because her dance partner Tristan MacManus is so sexy.



Speaking to the USA TODAY newspaper, the former Playboy model said: "I'm being tested. It's hard when you have a sweaty man pressed up against you every day. I feel lascivious. But I'm trying, I'm trying."

She added that Irish hunk Tristan makes it much "harder", joking: "Trust me; I could chew through a table right now."

The 'Baywatch' babe - who originally took part in the ballroom dancing series in 2010 - is heading to Rio next week for work reasons, and has asked Tristan to join her on the trip.

She laughed: "I'm going to take my sweaty Irishman down there. I'm 45 he's 30. But maybe that's how it's supposed to be ... Not good. Not good."

A love of younger men clearly runs in the family, since Pamela admitted it was her mother, Carol, who originally had her sights set on "sexy" professional dancer Tristan.

She said: "We were talking about partners and it was my mother who said, 'I hope you get Tristan, because he's sexy. You'll like him.'

"And here I am. (My mother) is so excited. She's coming to the first show."

Pamela Anderson wants to move back to Canada permanently.

The former 'Baywatch' beauty relocated to Los Angeles from her native British Columbia in the 80s when she first started modeling, but now divides her time between and the Californian city and Vancouver Island, where she says she will probably settle as she feels like she can be herself.

She told The Sun newspaper: "In Los Angeles I feel like I'm playing a character. I'm going here and there and dealing with things that aren't typical anywhere else.

"At home I feel completely relaxed. My hair's in a ponytail. I have my dad's flannel shirt on and I'm running around. It's great. I am so happy that I'm from there.

"I think people who are from Los Angeles don't always know what else is going on. That's why I get involved in all these other things, because I know Los Angeles
is not real."

Pamela, 44 - who has two children, Brandon, 15, and Dylan, 14, from her marriage to rock drummer Tommy Lee - also added because she has been a Playboy model people expect her not to be intelligent, but she actually comes from an extremely smart family.

She added: "All my family is in [high IQ society] Mensa - you wouldn't believe that one, would you?

"But they are on both sides. It just skipped me but my kids are really smart."

Pamela is now using her fame and influence to help the world beat climate change and protect the environment, working with fashion designer Vivienne Westwood closely with a group called Cool Earth, who buy rainforest and give it to indigenous communities.
