Nicole Richie and her fiancé, Adam Goldstein, have called off their engagement.The stunning 'Simple Life' star and club DJ AM, who dated for a year before getting engaged in February, split after a nine-month engagement.
Nicole's publicist, Cindy Guagenti, confirmed the couple had decided to call time on their relationship yesterday (12.07.05) but has so far refused to give out any further details.
The split follows Nicole's former best friend Paris Hilton's split from fiancé Paris Latsis in October.
Meanwhile, Nicole and Paris are set to star in a fourth series of 'The Simple Life'.
The reality TV show was axed from the US Fox TV network last month - but has now been picked up by E! Entertainment Television for another run.
It is not known whether the 24-year-old stars will appear on the show together - because the pair have been locked in a bitter feud for months.
It was rumoured Nicole, daughter of soul star Lionel Richie, had infuriated her pal by showing her infamous sex tape, 'One Night In Paris', to friends at a party.
However, Richie later rubbished the claims, insisting the pair just 'grew apart.'

On Tuesday night Nicole Richie sans her engagement ring has dinner with DJ AM at La Scala restaurant in Beverly Hills. Nicole Richie hid her face from paparazzi while exposing scratch marks on her arm.
Perez Hilton reports that DJ AM had enough of Nicole's weight issues and partying ways.
"Adam was fed up with Nicole," said one source. "Her issues with her weight, I'm reluctant to say 'anorexia', caused her behavior to be very erratic and moody lately."
Another source said that Adam discovered some troubling news about his girlfriend.
"A.M. has a residency in Vegas, where he goes to spin every weekend," said the other source. "And, when the cat's away, the mouse will play. Adam found out that Nicole was 'partying' when he was away, and he does not tolerate that."
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline Back On
Britney Spears has reportedly rekindled her romance with husband KevinFederline - and has vowed to give their troubled marriage another chance.
The pop babe has allegedly jetted home from Las Vegas - where she enjoyed a
break with friends - to be with Kevin and their baby son, Sean Preston.
The singer had kicked Kevin out of her home after a series of blazing rows -
and allegedly consulted lawyers about divorce.
She even had Kevin's beloved Ferrari towed away, according to reports.
A source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "I don't think
she's upset with him because of something specific.
"She's overwhelmed with her new lifestyle - being a wife and a mother - and
sometimes takes it out on the people she's closest to and who she knows will
stick around."
Earlier this month, it was claimed Britney had sought out the help of a
medium after a string of arguments with Kevin.
The star initially begged her husband - who has been spotted out partying on
several occasions since the birth of their son - to see a therapist, but the
former dancer refused, allegedly saying: "That's for crazy people. If you
want to see a shrink, go by yourself."
After Kevin's outburst, Britney contacted the psychic to ask what the future
holds for the troubled couple.

Elizabeth Hurley Not Even Engaged
Elizabeth Hurley has laughed off reports she is set to wed lover Arun Nayer -insisting she isn't even engaged.
The brunette beauty insists claims the pair are tying the knot in India next
year are untrue - and says she doesn't even want an engagement ring for
Christmas.
The actress told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Look at my hand - no
diamonds.
"We haven't even got engaged. We're not getting ready for the big day yet."
When asked if she hoped to unwrap a diamond from tycoon Nayer this
Christmas, the stunning star replied; "No, I've asked for a herd of cows."
Nayer was officially divorced from his first wife earlier this year -
leaving him free to wed Liz.
A source close to Liz and Nayer - who was married to Italian model Valentina
Pedroni for seven years - said at the time: "Elizabeth is delighted that
Arun's divorce has finally come through. It was all very hush-hush and very
rushed through an English court.
"Very few people knew it had been finalised."

Noel Gallagher has launched a blistering attack against White Stripesfrontman Jack White for being fat - saying he looks like "f***ing Zorro on
doughnuts".
The outspoken Oasis guitarist, famed for his foul-mouthed outbursts, claims
the US rocker looks terrible after piling on the pounds in recent months.
He said: "What the f**k is he playing at? He dresses like f***ing Zorro on
doughnuts! What the f**k is that about?"
Noel has also slammed White, who earlier this year married model Karen
Elson, for agreeing to write and record a song for a Coca-Cola advert.
He fumed to Britain's NME magazine: "Jack White has just done a song for
Coca-Cola. End of. He ceases to be in the club. He's supposed to be the
poster boy for the alternative way of thinking. Coca-Cola, man. F***ing
hell! Alright, you wanna spread your message of peace and love, but do us
all a f***ing favour. I'm not having that, it's f***ing wrong. Particularly

Angelina Jolie was left red-faced after a female fan bared her bottom to show off a tattoo of the sexy actress on one cheek - moments after having her photo taken with her.The screen beauty happily posed for a snap with the pretty admirer at a benefit concert for Peter Gabriel's charity, Witness, on Monday night (12.05.05).
However, as Jolie - who is famed for her love of tattoos - turned her back, female fan Emily Sheridan flashed her butt to reveal an 8-inch tattooed image of the 'Tomb Raider' beauty.
