After the above pictures surfaced, I thought female celebrities
finally left their pointy high heeled shoes in the closet
and embraced the blunt (more round) tipped high heeled shoes.

It probably is just me, because the pointy heels have been enormously popular for years now.
Yet, few people can pull them off elegantly..and I doubt they are comfortable (bunions, anyone?).

I particularly don’t like it when the toes are still partially visible, but that’s to be expected:
basically you are standing on tiptoe right about where the bend is on the bottom of the shoe.
The first inches of the shoe are just empty space
and thus pointy heels often make your feet look bigger.

Also, there is some retro-chic about high heeled shoes with a more rounder tip, and I personally like that.

Then came Beyoncé with her “Green light” video,
introducing the ‘pointe shoes’ (ballet shoes) with 18cm (= 7in) high heels.

The latest fashion however, are stilettos WITHOUT heels:

Celebs spotted with the “heels-without-heels” (I have no idea how they should be called):
Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman.

Facts:
- made by Antonio Berardi.
- height is 14cm (= 5.5in) high.
- have platforms that reaches further to the middle of the shoe for extra support (phew, what a relief..).
- walking is done by placing your toes first on the ground, that way you can’t fall back (err..makes sense).
- not suitable for long walking distances (genial!).
- they are not dangerous.
- price ticket: allegedly Posh laid down €3600 (= 5,572USD) (no mentioning if that includes an assurance policy).

I’m a shorty: 5’2”..and I hardly wear heels anymore.
I used to wear small heeled shoes (Up until 5cm I guess) when I was much younger.
Around Christmas 2007 I started wearing heels again
(the shoes were ‘old’ but looked as if they were new AND they are in fashion again).

I like comfortable shoes, especially boots because I’m such a tomboy.
They often have a very thick sole, so that adds some height.

But I absolutely don’t have a shoe or fashion fetish. Apart from crazy socks, that is.  LOL

I love shoes period.  Shoes, handbags and make-up.  I tell my husband that there are different shades of red and its important to have the right red or ? shoe to go with the outfit.  He doesn’t believe me what so ever.

I know, Pepsi Lover!
My mom used to ask me “How may items of this or that do you need?”
and then I told her “Can’t you see the difference?”, as it was so obvious to me.
My eye-make-up was in many different shades of purple, some with a bit of a sparkle in it,
but they all looked different when I actually put them on.
(Yes, ‘purple’, it was back in the 80s..).

Even know I am a bit obsessed with “matching colours”..
I can’t leave the house if my handkerchief is not the right colour to go with my outfit. LOL
I carry it too far, even I can see that..and it’s very tiring at times.

But in the end I agree with you: there are subtle differences between almost the same accessories and make-up, and using the wrong one can mess everything up.

ArrogantKat, why did you delete your comment, please?
While I don’t care too much for shoes..I have to admit I like items that look a little like ‘bondage attributes’.
There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
