While renowned couture houses are making high waisted pants fashionable
and now consider the low ‘hipster jeans’ as a fashion faux-pas,
the Japanese want their jeans to be lower than ever.
The first questions that rise, are:
How do you keep up a jeans that doesn’t even reach your hips?
How do you prevent your butt crack from being shown all the time?
Brazillian designer Sandra Tanimura came up with the solution: the Bikini Jeans!

(Apparently the news that thongs are out of fashion since a few years as well hasn’t reached Brazil or Japan either..)
It’s NOT a jeans worn over a bikini thong, it are one-piece trousers.
What normally should be the waistband of the pants, is replaced by the ‘spaghetti-bands’: they are holding it up.

After 4 kids, there is no way in hell I could wear something like that. I could see all the mothers now at the PTA meeting if I showed up in those. HAHA!

OMG, I just got this vision of middle age women in this jeans at a PTA,
not a pretty site!!!

Japanese women are generally very petite, all through their lifes.
Allthough it is meant for teenagers, I think it would fit Japanese women off all ages.
Remember this wacky trend?

I love your current siggie, nnz.
“Let’s live life!”..beautiful.
(I’m in dire need of a new avatar and signature, but nothing I came across staisfied me completely. )

I don’t remember the above trend and I wouldn’t wear it either.
Thanks imani, I had to do some research for the avatar and
Catullus is one of my favorite poets.
My singnature is in Latin and it roughly means,
“to live life and to live it up”

Nnz, the skirts aren’t really see through items:
the butt and legs are painted on the fabric.
It was only ‘hip in Japan’, as far as I recall.
And I know what your signature means.
The most basic translation is “Live your life”..
meaning “Enjoy life”.
Sometimes I wonder why I never took Latin and/or Greek in highschool,
but then I remember why I chose for the courses I took,
and have no regrets. I can still learn more about it now, if I wished.

I don’t like ultra low jeans, there’s no reason to wear a belt if they come to your ass. Now i can wear low rise but any lower i won’t.

OMG…...NEVER WOULD I WEAR SUCH SH*T!
Those things are ugly as ugly can be…IMO!
I wear low rise, but like Agent, any lower and it is just not for me. I am too afraid of having “plumber crack”!!!!!! LOL!

Wtjo, the idea behind the design is NOT to show ‘plumber cracks’,
by making the thong part of the jeans.
They’re not two pieces, it’s a one-piece bikini jeans.
And welcome back, btw!

Oh, I know what ya mean about the jeans shown above. I meant ultra low rise, in general. I have a couple of pairs and I feel like if I have to bend over I am gonna show the “junk in my trunk”...LOL….I never wear them unless I have on a longer shirt. I do not know how I feel about the designers coming out with the high waist pants again. I bought a couple pairs and I have not worn them yet, so maybe they will grow on me….Who knows?!?
