Paris Hilton has Going to Jail Party

Paris Hilton's friends have thrown her a party to wish her luck in prison.

The hotel heiress will begin her 23-day sentence for driving with a
suspended license on June 5, and her pals have rallied round to try and keep
her spirits up.

Childhood friend Caroline D'Amore said: "We had a little party at her house
the other night. We all went round to be there for her.
"She has high hopes."

D'Amore also revealed that at Nicole Richie's infamous Memorial Day
barbecue, "We all watched the first episode of the new season of 'The Simple
Life', which was really cute."

But another friend of the 26-year-old socialite said Paris is very scared
about her impending imprisonment.

The pal told People magazine: "She breaks down crying a lot because she just
can't deal with the reality and pressure of everything that is happening.
"She really can't take how most people around her have scattered and
distanced themselves."

Paris has dropped her appeal against the sentence and will hand herself into
California's Century Regional Detention Facility in just a few days.
The blonde will serve her time on the special needs wing of the prison for
her own protection.

Her cellmate - a reckless driving convict - has been handpicked as the
person least likely to try and cash-in on Paris.

She wants to paint the picture of an innocent girl who is forced to stop her socialite duties for an undeserved sentence.

She's going to have hair & makeup people work on her so she looks her best en route to her cage.

Sources say the jail-bound heiress has ordered a hair and makeup team to meet her at her Hollywood Hills home at 9 a.m. Monday.

She wants the media to see her looking her best.

"The timing is to make sure she makes all the celebrity weeklies," an insider says.

"Paris is a genius at marketing herself. She managed to turn having a sex tape to her benefit, and she's going to do the same out of going to prison."

But the pal observes: "It's not just about marketing, it's about making money. If she can set up her entry into jail in a very grand way, the payoff will be greater."

Hilton is also said to have decided to write a prison diary during her 23-day sentence, for publication upon release.

"If she can make it believable, and not exaggerate too much, she might expect to make a million dollars out of it."
