George Clooney says Tom Cruise is a "good egg".
The 'Ocean's Thirteen' actor thinks Tom - who has been ridiculed for
following bizarre sci-fi cult religion Scientology - will be less of a joke
if he can learn to laugh at himself.
He said: "I talked to Tom the other day, and he's a good egg. There's
nothing self-serving about what he's saying. He has to turn it into a way to
make fun of himself."
George also revealed he has mastered the skill of disguising his annoyance
with a public sense of humor.
He told Time magazine: "I don't talk about my personal life. People say they
won't talk about their personal life. And then they do.
"And even when the tabloids say really bad things and it p****s you off and
you know it's not true, you have to at least publicly have a sense of humor
about it. That's how you have to deal with it."

Amy Winehouse Trashed Her Hotel Room
Amy Winehouse has caused over $6,000 worth of damage to her hotel room.The troubled singer refused to let cleaners into her executive suite at
London's Riverbank Plaza Hotel - where she has been staying since she left
rehab last week - but when they finally gained entry on Wednesday (02.20.08)
they were shocked with what they discovered.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Staff finally got into the room
while Amy was at the BRITs. It was carnage. It was covered in alcohol and
cigarette butts, absolutely disgusting. The bed had not been changed since
the day she arrived.
"There was dirty underwear everywhere and the place smelt incredibly stale.
They have already had to replace part of the wooden floor, which cost $6,000
alone. Who knows what the total bill will be."
Amy, who had been staying at the hotel with her photographer friend Blake
Wood, had also taken a mirror off the wall and laid it on the ground, which
has sparked concern she is still taking drugs as shiny surfaces are often
used to snort cocaine.
The source added: "The mirror was on the floor. One can only guess what that
was for. She had also taken down all the pictures. She had obviously dyed
her black beehive and the bath had to be scrubbed and unblocked from matted
hair balls.
"It took three maids two hours to get the place into a habitable order."
Yesterday (02.21.08), Amy, 24, arrived looking tired and disheveled
following two nights of partying for an emotional meeting with her husband
Black Fielder-Civil at London's Pentonville Prison.
A source said: "Amy arrived at the prison looking a bit of a mess. She had
bags under her eyes and her make-up was smudged. It was obvious she'd been
up all night drinking.
"She was in tears as she spoke to Blake. He looked as though he was crying
too. It was a very tense conversation."
Blake is awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of
justice and grievous bodily harm.
