Madonna in Ecstacy at the 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Madonna revealed she once took ecstasy, during her acceptance speech at the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night (03.10.08).

The pop superstar made the shock confession as she was inducted at New
York’s Waldorf-Astoria hotel. She also confessed to smoking marijuana.

After accepting the prestigious accolade from Justin Timberlake, Madonna
said: “The night I met Michael Rosenblatt, who signed me to Sire Records, I
jammed my demo tape into his hand, we both did a tab of ecstasy and then we
danced the night away
.”

The ‘Material Girl’ singer spoke of her cannabis experiences when she
recalled the night she met long-term publicist Liz Rosenberg, adding: “We
smoked a joint together.”

In one of the longest speeches in the ceremony’s history, Madonna, 49, also
thanked the people who had put her down, saying they made her strive to be a
better performer.

She said: “The ones that said I was talentless, that I was chubby, that I
couldn’t sing, that I was a one-hit wonder. They pushed me to be better, and
I am grateful for their resistance
.”

Justin, who has collaborated with Madonna on her upcoming album ‘Hard
Candy’, used the occasion to make a few thinly-veiled comments about
ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, who Madonna famously kissed at the 2003 MTV
Video Music Awards.

He said: “The world is full of Madonna wannabes. I might have even dated a
couple. But there is truly only one Madonna
.

She has still found time to kiss someone I may or may not have publicly
kissed myself while I was in the audience
.

Of course, you know I’m talking about Sean Penn!

‘SexyBack’ singer Justin also revealed Madonna gave him vitamin injections
when they worked together.

He said: “We had a recording session in London and I wasn't feeling well.
She said, 'Would you like a B12 shot?' She reached into her handbag, pulled
out a bag of B12 syringes and said, 'Drop 'em!
'

I don't know what you say to that, so I dropped my pants. She gave me the
shot in my a**. It was one of the greatest days of my life. That is what
Madonna will always be to us. The shot in the a** when we really need it!

Other musicians to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year included The
Dave Clark Five and Leonard Cohen.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognizes the work of artists 25 years after
the release of their first record.

Around 1,000 experts, including journalists, music industry professionals
and academics vote on nominees – selected by a committee of music historians
– based on their influence and significance on rock and roll music.

Previous inductees include Elvis Presley, The Beatles, James Brown and Led
Zeppelin.

Madonna
Leonard Cohen
John Mellencamp
The Dave Clark Five
The Ventures

The pop superstar - who has played to sell-out audiences around the world
for more than two decades - says her crippling anxiety attacks leave her so
short of breath she has to compose herself before continuing with her
performance.

She said: "I have moments where I feel incredibly invincible and know that I
have the audience in my hand. I know that everything is absolutely perfect.
"And then I have panic attacks, where I feel like everyone is breathing my
air, and I might just die on stage
.

"I normally try to turn my back to the audience, take a deep breath and
remind myself that it's all temporary
."

The 'Material Girl' singer, who turns 50 in August, insists her problem is
brought on by claustrophobia and has nothing to do with lack of confidence
in her ability.

She added to Dazed and Confused magazine: "I'm not worried about f**king up
- I really have a panic attack that everyone else is breathing my air. It's
hard to describe. When you have panic attacks you cannot rationalize them
.

"Obviously there's enough oxygen for me but it never happens outdoors, it's
normally in indoor sports arenas that feel very close when suddenly I feel
claustrophobic. It's not a fear of performing
."

Catherine Zeta-Jones: Sex Symbol

Catherine Zeta-Jones is refusing to give up her sex symbol status.

The 38-year-old actress - who was recently quoted as saying she was getting
too old for sex scenes - insists she can still carry off raunchy roles and
hasn't reached her peak yet.

The 'Chicago' star - who has two children, Dylan, seven, and four-year-old
Carys, with 63-year-old husband Michael Douglas - said: "I'm not going to be
playing old grannies any time soon. In my next movie, you'll be seeing a lot
more of me, put it that way.

image

"You see, I haven't actually reached my sexiest point."

Catherine recently hit back at claims she had wants to give up sexy roles.

She said: "I didn't say that. Don't worry, don't worry you'll see it. It was
a misquote but these roles are coming in now where I am playing more moms,
but no, I'm not giving them up
."

Although she's happy with the way she looks, Catherine has admitted to using
Elizabeth Arden's Prevage anti-ageing cream, which costs $125 a pot.

She said: "I think my essential beauty treatment would have to be Prevage
anti-ageing cream. Once you start using it you can't live without it. I use
it every day
."

No Lesbians or Reality TV For Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan’s friends and family are reportedly desperate to keep her away
from 28-year-old lesbian Courtenay Semel.

Friends of the troubled actress – who completed a two-month stint in rehab
last year for drink and drug problems – are said to be worried about her
new friend, and are scared Lindsay will be susceptible to other “bad
influences
”.

A source close to Lindsay’s family told the New York Post newspaper: “They
are all just leeches, and they are trying to drag Lindsay down and use her
for her fame
.”

Meanwhile, Lindsay intends to have nothing to do with ‘Living Lohan’ – the
E! channel reality show her sister Ali and mother Dina are starring in.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star was overheard blasting the program last week at a
party.

A source said: “Lindsay looked like she was having a really good time, but
she got annoyed when someone bought up the Lohan reality show, and snapped,
‘I’m not going to have anything to do with it.’

Her Breasts Became Useful

Christina Aguilera says her slimline post-baby figure is down to
breastfeeding.

The ‘Dirrty’ singer – who gave birth to son Max Liron, her first baby with
husband Jordan Bratman, two months ago – insists feeding hungry Max is “like
a workout in itself”.

image

She told TV show ‘Access Hollywood’: “I think they say that when you're
breastfeeding, you know, your weight kind of slims down. It's a little
easier. It's like a workout within itself. It’s very tiring actually and you
find yourself snacking more often
.”

Weird and Scary

Ashley Olsen has blasted the paparazzi - labeling them "weird and scary".

Ashley, whose twin sister is Mary-Kate Olsen, has been famous since she was
six-years-old but admits she still finds it difficult to deal with
photographers following her.

image

She said: "Photographers started following us, all over Los Angeles. First
it was weird and then it got scary. I'm only 5ft 1in. I'm tiny. And when you
have this 6ft 5in dude coming after you, yelling inappropriate things, your
instinct as a woman comes out. You feel like you're being attacked
."

Mary-Kate, 21, agrees with her sibling, and admits she feels much safer when
she is in New York as opposed to Los Angeles.

She said: "I have much more freedom in New York and I just feel safer. I
don't live with the same anxiety that I do in Los Angeles
."
