Michael Jackson Abused Medication For Years According To Pal
Michael Jackson had been abusing prescription drugs for years, according to his longterm friend, doctor and author Deepak Chopra.Chopra reveals he has refused in the past to prescribe the star strong medication, and blamed "drug peddling Hollywood doctors" for feeding his need and causing his death.
In a passion-fueled interview with news network CNN, Chopra listed the drugs he knew Jackson was taking, including strong painkillers Demerol and Oxycontin, the latter dubbed 'Hillybilly Heroin'.
Chopra said, "Michael spent a week with me and at one point asked me for an prescription for a narcotic. It certainly dawned on me he was already taking these and had a number of doctors who were giving him these prescriptions, so I confronted him with that. At first he denied it, he was in a lot of pain, he said he had back pain and I knew he had muscular aches and skeletal pains from the stress he was going through. I said, 'Michael you don't need this...'
"There are a plethora of doctors in Hollywood - they are drug peddlers, they are drug pushers they just happen to have a medical license and I hope this episode today, this tragic death of a great human being will bring to light this problem.
"I will be bold enough to identify these people at a certain time but I think the police should do their own investigation."
When pushed on the drugs Jackson was taking by host Wolf Blitzer, Chopra replied, "At one time I knew about Oxycontin. I knew that he would get injections of Demerol and other narcotics. I was really desperate to try and help him but you can't help somebody who is going to deny it. In my belief, from what I know, he was (addicted)."

According to TMZ: Jackson's nickname for the Demerol injections - "health tonic".

Celebrities Remember Michael Jackson

wenn.com
Alice Cooper: "Michael Jackson was easily as influential as James Brown, and that's saying a lot. He was the Fred Astaire of his time. Nobody moved like Michael, he was truly the King of Pop." .
Alicia Keys: "There is no one in the world like MJ! Never has been! Never will be! We all know him in one way or another. In some way he has touched us, been the voice of one of our sweetest memories. And what a wonderful, genuine, compassionate, soft spoken giant so full of love. He gave us love, excitement, one of a kind moments in a mundane world. I can't believe he won't be with us here on earth anymore. But long from now, when we are all dust, he will still never be forgotten ... To the best that ever did it! You are loved, admired and respected forever."
Beyonce: "The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the King of Pop.
"For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honoured to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael."
Britney Spears: "I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!"
Celine Dion: "Michael Jackson's been an idol for me all my life. In my house when I was very, very young, and having his posters above my bedroom. He's been my idol all my life.
"It feels like when... when Kennedy died, when Elvis Presley died. It's a big loss. And I have to say that it's not even sinking in right now.
"I grew up with him. And through my (eight year old) son, I'm discovering his music again. He will never die. He will never, ever, ever die."
Cher: "(He was) one of the great singers. A genius, like Ray Charles; like Stevie Wonder. In later years, I didn't see him that much and when I did see him, his behaviour was very strange to me. And so I didn't relate to that person as well. I didn't really understand him."
Corey Feldman via TMZ: "I come to you today with great sadness, acknowledging the loss of the greatest entertainer in the history of mankind. For me he was more than that, he was my idol, he was a role model, he was someone to cry to when my childhood was unbearable, he was a brother, he was a dear friend.
"Unfortunately Michael and I had a falling out on September 10th 2001 and that broken friendship had never been repaired. I have stayed close with his family through the years.
"As a matter of fact my wife and I attended LaToya's birthday thrown by Janet three weeks ago... Michael was supposed to be there and we were supposed to try and talk things out. Michael didn't show because he was stuck in rehearsals for his upcoming tour.
"I am filled with tremendous sadness and remorse. All I choose to remember from this point is the good times we shared and what an inspiration he was to me and the rest of the world. Nobody will ever be able to do what Michael Jackson has done in this industry, and he was so close to doing it all again."
Eddie Van Halen: "I am really shocked; as I'm sure the world is, to hear the news. I had the pleasure of working with Michael on BEAT IT back in '83 - one of my fondest memories in my career. Michael will be missed and may he rest in peace."
Jermaine Dupri: "Let us all pray for the Jacksons at this hard time. Michael Jackson the LEGEND, his legacy will carry on! (He) will be deeply missed. KING OF POP."
Justin Timberlake: "I can't find the words right now to express how deeply sadden (sic) I am by Michael's passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music, but of all music.
"He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones."
Liza Minnelli: "Kind, genuine, and wonderful man."
Madonna: "I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."
Mariah Carey: "No artist will ever take his place. His star will shine forever."
Neil Diamond: "One of the most brilliant musicians I've ever known. The world will be a sadder place tonight because he is gone."
Martin Scorsese: "Michael Jackson was extraordinary. When we worked together on BAD, I was in awe of his absolute mastery of movement on the one hand, and of the music on the other. Every step he took was absolutely precise and fluid at the same time. It was like watching quicksilver in motion. He was wonderful to work with, an absolute professional at all times, and - it really goes without saying - a true artist.”
Paul McCartney: "t's so sad and shocking. I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy-man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones. I send my deepest sympathy to his mother and the whole family and to his countless fans all around the world."
Sheryl Crow: "I am deeply saddened to hear of Michael's sudden passing. His was a rare talent that we witness once in a lifetime. One who makes such an indelible mark that for generations singers and dancers attribute him as inspiration. I had the great privilege of watching him every night doing what he did best... entertain. I am grateful to have known him for the two years that I worked for him and will mourn his loss with his many millions of fans across the world."
Smokey Robinson: "It's always hard to lose a friend."
Tina Turner: "I am shocked and saddened by Michael's passing. I, along with his millions of fans, looked forward to seeing him tour one more time. Now, may he rest in peace."

Lisa Marie Presley: ‘Jackson Knew He Would Die Young’
Michael Jackson's ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley is haunted by a premonition the King of Pop confessed to having during their marriage - that he would die young like her father Elvis Presley.Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday and was pronounced dead that afternoon, aged 50, after being rushed to UCLA Medical Center in California.
His body has since been transferred by helicopter to the coroner's office in downtown Los Angeles, where an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is taking place on Friday..
New reports suggest a cocktail of seven prescription drugs could have triggered the Thriller hitmaker's cardiac arrest - a shocking similarity to the 1977 death of Lisa Marie's iconic father Elvis Presley, who famously battled drug addiction and died of a sudden heart attack at age 42.
In a posting on her MySpace.com page one day after Jackson's death, Presley writes, "He knew: Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general. I can't recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my father's death... At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, 'I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did.' ... I promptly tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded almost matter of fact as if to let me know, he knew what he knew and that was kind of that... 14 years later I am sitting here watching on the news as an ambulance leaves the driveway of his home."
Presley also blames herself for failing to help Jackson avoid the fate he predicted, adding, "The person I failed to help is being transferred right now to the LA County Coroners office for his Autopsy... All of my indifference and detachment that I worked so hard to achieve over the years has just gone into the bowels of hell and right now I am gutted..."
And Jackson's sudden death has prompted Presley to finally clarify reports her 1994 marriage to the pop star, which lasted two years, was staged for publicity.

She adds: "Our relationship was not 'a sham' as is being reported in the press. It was an unusual relationship yes, where two unusual people who did not live or know a 'normal life' found a connection, perhaps with some suspect timing on his part. Nonetheless, I do believe he loved me as much as he could love anyone and I loved him very much... I wanted to 'save him'.
"His family and his loved ones also wanted to save him from this as well but didn't know how and this was 14 years ago. We all worried that this would be the outcome then.
"He was an incredibly dynamic force and power that was not to be underestimated... When he used it for something good, It was the best and when he used it for something bad, It was really, REALLY bad... Mediocrity was not a concept that would even for a second enter Michael Jackson's being or actions...
I became very ill and emotionally/ spiritually exhausted in my quest to save him from certain self-destructive behavior and from the awful vampires and leeches he would always manage to magnetize around him. ... I was in over my head while trying..... I had my children to care for, I had to make a decision...
The hardest decision I have ever had to make, which was to walk away and let his fate have him, even though I desperately loved him and tried to stop or reverse it somehow...
"As I sit here overwhelmed with sadness, reflection and confusion at what was my biggest failure to date, watching on the news almost play by play The exact scenario I saw happen on August 16th, 1977 happening again right now with Michael.
"He was an amazing person and I am lucky to have gotten as close to him as I did and to have had the many experiences and years that we had together." (WENN/JMA/AWS/IG)
