Courtenay Semel Snorted Oxycontin Before Events

Courtenay Semel sat down exclusively with E!’s Ken Baker to talk about her tumultuous romance with the late heiress Casey Johnson, whom she believes may have died at age 30 from what she believes was a combination of diabetes, drugs and exhaustion. The Hollywood socialite and former E! reality star shared details of Casey’s recent rehab efforts, why Johnson’s mother took custody of her 3-year-old daughter Ava, and her several diabetes-related visits to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the last few months of her life.

Among Semel’s revelations:

- Last July, Johnson’s family forced her to check into the Cliffside Malibu rehab: “She actually did check herself in, finally, to rehab and wasn't able to stay for longer than a week.”

- Johnson had recently suffered a nearly fatal diabetic episode: “She's laying there and she couldn't speak. Her eyes were closed, she was barely conscious and I called 911 and I was on the phone with the paramedics. Her doctor said to me ‘Courtney, if you don't get her into the emergency room in the next 10 minutes, she could die.’”

- Semel herself struggled with drug use while dating Tila Tequila in 2008: “I would snort this Oxycontin and just literally lay there and be like, ‘Okay, we have to go to an event now.’”



- Johnson was taking medication for depression and anxiety: “She had really bad anxiety. Everything in her life was falling apart.”

- Johnson was heartbroken over being estranged from her father, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson: “Casey kind of just really wanted her dad back in her life and she would cry about it a lot. It was like her dad was her best friend.”

- Semel alleges that Johnson began dating Tila Tequila “for publicity” three weeks before she died.

- Semel suspects Johnson’s death was drug-related: “I definitely think she was on drugs one hundred and fifty percent. I cannot wait for that autopsy to come back and if there’s Oxycontin in that autopsy.”
