9:11pm: The violence has sprad to Leeds, reports Martin Wainwright:

There was a tense situation in the Chapeltown area of Leeds where police were called after a man was shot and suffered facial injuries.

Up to 100 youths, some wearing masks, gathered in the area which has seen street violence in the past but has enjoyed a better reputation in the past decade.

The UK's second biggest Caribbean carnival is held in the local Potternewton Park on August bank holiday with a parade through the city center.

Rule number one about pulling off a successful heist is that you don't tell anyone - and you definitely don't post a picture of yourself online with all the stolen goods.

Unfortunately, this rule was lost on one hapless opportunist, who posted a picture of himself on Facebook with various items - suggesting that he stole them from vandalized stores during the week's rioting.

It was one of the more astounding posts that police claim encouraged violence and theft across the capital over the weekend and early this morning.

Man Parallel “Slide” Parks Into Gap 10 Inches Longer Than His Car

Often the source of many a driving test failure, for German driving ace Ronny Wechselberger (a.k.a. "Ronny C-Rock"), even the tiniest of gaps is no barrier when it comes to parallel parking.

The video below sees Ronnie neatly slide his way neatly into a gap measuring just 26 cm’s (10.24 inches) longer than that of his vehicle.

Ronnie set the record during filming for German TV show Wir holen den Rekord nach Deutschland in Berlin, in April this year.

However, the record has since been bettered on the set of Chinese TV show Zheng Da Zong Yi-Guinness World Records Special, when Zhang Hua squeezed a car into a space just 24cm longer than that of the vehicle last week.
