* BAY'S ANGRY TRANSFORMERS EMAIL LEAKED
Clues about moviemaker MICHAEL BAY's decision to leave the TRANSFORMERS world behind have been revealed in a leaked email to Paramount studio bosses.
Bay has stepped down as the director of the film franchise, starring Shia LaBeouf, after two movies, insisting he has "had enough" of making big budget blockbusters.
But a new memo, sent to movie bosses and obtained by TMZ.com, suggests he was unhappy with the way his Transformers sequel was being promoted.
The email to Brad Pitt's former production partner and Paramount boss Brad Grey, dated 4 May, 2009, reads, "I have been waiting, and waiting for the anticipation of an 'event movie' to make it into the public zeitgeist."
Bay calls the print campaign for Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen an "abject failure" and insists the promotion of the movie at the recent MTV Movie Awards was "so lame".
He asks, "Is this is a cash issue with your company?"
In appears either Bay has since reconsidered his comments or Paramount bosses have appeased him with a boosted publicity campaign - because in another leaked email, written earlier this month (06Jun09), the director praises Grey and the studio executives, writing, "Paramount is like family. Thank you all for busting your butts and bringing your 'A game' for the release of Transformers."
The email was a farewell of sorts - last week (ends19Jun09), Bay announced he would not be making a third Transformers film.
He said, "After the three and a half years I've spent making these movies, I feel like I've had enough of the Transformers world. I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions." (KL/WNWCZM/MJ)



* CELL PHONE SEIZED IN CELEBRITY SURROGACY SNOOPING INVESTIGATION - REPORT
Officials in Ohio have reportedly confiscated a cell phone belonging to a police officer caught up in a tabloid scam to dig up dirt on the woman carrying actress SARAH JESSICA PARKER's twin babies.
Reports suggest investigators have seized Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter's phone after learning he used it to take photos of the inside of the surrogate mum's home.
A source tells news website TMZ.com that the cop allegedly took 15 pictures after agreeing to snoop on the woman for a U.S. tabloid reporter.
Carpenter insists he and a fellow officer were only messing with the National Enquirer hack - and he is "100 per cent" innocent of any crime.
But the cop has confessed he once stepped into the surrogate's home in Martins Ferry when he found her front door open during a routine house call. He insists he left the property with empty handed after checking everything was OK.
National Enquirer editors insist they had no knowledge of the snoop deal.
Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick have released a joint statement in regard to the investigation. It reads, "Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system. But because it's a criminal investigation - we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer."

* CYRUS DEMANDS FAIRLY PRICED TICKETS FOR FANS
MILEY CYRUS is banishing paper tickets on her upcoming arena tour to ensure none of her fans are ripped off by scalpers, bootleggers and secondary ticket vendors.
The Disney sensation was criticized during her 2007-2008 Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds concert trek when resellers scooped up scores of tickets and sold them to desperate parents at hugely inflated prices.
Now Cyrus is hoping to cut out the middle man by introducing 'paperless tickets', which will require fans who purchase tickets to show credit cards in order to enter concert venues.
The star's manager, Jason Morey, says, "Scalping is a really important issue to Miley, but really the focus is about giving the regular fan an opportunity to buy a really good ticket at face value."
And industry insiders insist Miley's plan is working - because the 45 shows that went on sale on Monday (13Jun09) didn't sell out immediately.
A spokesperson for promoters AEG Live says, "This is what sales used to look like before brokers got into our business. Now you're dealing with the public and the public has their own time that they go about doing things. I think we're off to a fantastic start."

* VAN HALEN: 'SOBRIETY MAKES IT TOUGHER TO MASTER THE GUITAR'
VAN HALEN star EDDIE VAN HALEN has confessed he has to work hard to maintain his guitar-great reputation - because sobriety has robbed him of his skills.
Van Halen tells Spinner.com he's "re-learning" how to play the guitar because he isn't as "loose" as he was when he was boozed up.
The rocker, who completed a spell in rehab in 2007, explains, "It takes me a good hour to loosen up my fingers... after two and a half, three hours, you kind of get into a zone that I'm kind of relearning because I'm not drinking anymore. When I used to drink, it would get me there quicker. It's kind of the zone where you're not thinking.
"God's not gonna give you nothing if you don't practice or play. So, after a couple, three hours, God says, 'OK, he's ready. I'll throw him a bone.' And God's got a sense of humor, too - sometimes he gives me s**t, 'cause not everything I do I like." (KL/WNWC/IG)


* NIP/TUCK GOES UNDER THE KNIFE
Quirky plastic surgery drama NIP/TUCK has been canceled after 100 episodes.
The show, starring Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon, debuted in 2003 and became an instant critical and ratings hit in America.
But reports suggest the most recent episode - the 100th - was the last. It wrapped on 12 June (09).
Cast member John Hensley confirmed the sad news, telling PerezHilton.com, "I feel we've reached a creative impasse with regards to what we can do with this story.
"I just feel that we were a show that was very good and innovative at one point and we've gone the way of so many shows before us. Our moment has passed."

* KLEIN'S NEW 'WIFE' DENIES MARRIAGE
The mystery woman said to have married CHRIS KLEIN has moved swiftly to deny reports they wed in secret.
Earlier this month (Jun09) the American Pie star was snapped holding hands with a brunette sporting a diamond ring on her wedding ring finger, causing gossips to speculate that the couple had tied the knot.
The woman in question is Jaime Sullivan, PR director for Los Angeles hotspot the Guys and Dolls Lounge - the celebrity haunt the pair was snapped leaving.
Sullivan has dispelled any rumors of marriage, but admits she did once enjoy a romance with the actor.
She explains, "Chris and I dated a few years ago. And it's been great reconnecting. He's an incredible man and a wonderful friend."

* GOMEZ AND LOVATO CRASH PROM
Best pals SELENA GOMEZ and DEMI LOVATO ditched a glamorous film party to invade a high school prom in Canada on Thursday (18Jun09).
The two Disney stars were in Toronto celebrating the launch of her new TV movie Princess Protection Program when they decided to check out a prom at nearby Etobicoke Collegiate Institute.
Security guards allowed the 16 year olds to sneak into the event, where they mingled with stunned students, and even took to the dance floor to show off her moves.
Prom night came to an end for the teens at 11pm, however, after the party-crashers were asked to leave because they weren't students.
Gomez was still on a high after the event, writing on her Twitter.com blog: "PPP (Princess Protection Program) peeps and I crashed a prom tonight and danced with a highschool!! amazing!! I finally had prom!" (PAW/WNTWT/KL)

The Sultan of Brunei's son hosted the social event of the year at Stapleford Park in England last weekend (beg13Jun09) - and the stars turned out in full force to help celebrate his big day.
Hollywood legends such as Dunaway and Ursula Andress rubbed shoulders with Carey, model Jerry Hall, and singer Chaka Khan, who performed for the 230 guests.

* FATBOY SLIM CANCELS HOME TOWN GIG
DJ FATBOY SLIM has cancelled his fifth annual Big Beach Boutique party in his home town of Brighton, England.
The star's management has blamed his busy summer schedule for the cancellation of this September's Big Beach Boutique, but have assured fans that the 2010 bash would be bigger and better.
A spokesperson for the DJ's management says, "We've decided to take the year off. Norman has a packed schedule for the summer and we wanted to sit back and give ourselves time to come up with some new ideas to make the next show even better. We'll definitely see you all in 2010."
The cancellation comes after Fatboy Slim - real name Norman Cook - spent time in rehab earlier this year (09) to battle an addiction to alcohol.
In April (09), Cook canceled his appearance at Snowboarding festival Snowbombing as he was still receiving treatment to beat his demons.

* ADAMS 'TO SNAP BECKHAM FAMILY PORTRAIT'
DAVID and VICTORIA BECKHAM will celebrate their ten-year anniversary by recruiting BRYAN ADAMS to take their family portrait, according to reports.
The superstar couple is said to have asked singer-turned-snapper Adams to help them mark the milestone date by shooting a series of pictures of them with their sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
They'll then reveal the photos at a celebration of their big day on 4 July (09), according to Britain's News of the World newspaper.
A source tells the tabloid, "They're going to pose for some romantic photos, and then have a big family photo with their three boys.

Country star KELLIE PICKLER has a tough time enjoying tours and vacations, because she's afraid of hotels.
The singer admits she chooses to sleep in the confines of a tour bus rather than relax in five-star luxury when she's on the road - because she can't bear to use a hotel room someone else has slept in.

* KIDMAN'S BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE TO DAD
NICOLE KIDMAN marked her 42nd birthday on Saturday (20Jun09) by paying tribute to her dad.
The actress turned a year older a day before Father's Day (21Jun09) and decided to use the occasion to honour her dad, Anthony, who she credited for his "wonderful" help after her split from ex-husband Tom Cruise in 2001.
She told Britain's Daily Mail, "Dad's a psychiatrist and when I was younger he was always trying to give me advice that I wouldn't listen to.
"Now that I'm older, I really value his insight. When I was younger, I always felt closer to my mother than to my father. It wasn't until I was older that I really realized how special my father is, too.
"When my marriage to Tom Cruise fell apart, I really needed to reach out to my dad, and he was wonderful. He stood by me, comforted me; showed me, at a time when I really needed to see it, the way that a man can be strong, dignified and loving.

* THE PROPOSAL KNEELS AT THE NUMBER ONE SPOT
SANDRA BULLOCK's new movie THE PROPOSAL has ended THE HANGOVER's drunken run at the top of the U.S. box office with a $34 million opening weekend take.
The film, co-starring Ryan Reynolds, marks Bullock's biggest opening weekend ever, and finished way ahead of studio expectations.
Sleeper summer hit The Hangover slipped to second place, but passed the $150 million (£100 million) mark in its third weekend on release.
Disney/Pixar's Up took in over $21 million in its fourth weekend, taking its tally to $224 million, and Jack Black's caveman comedy Year One debuted in fourth place with a respectable $20.2 million. (KL/WN/MJ)



* EINSTEIN PHOTO SELLS FOR $74,000
A print of an iconic photograph of legendary physicist ALBERT EINSTEIN has sold for $74,000.
The famous 1951 snap of the genius with his tongue out, taken at Princeton University in America, was auctioned off on website RRAuction.com on Thursday (18Jun09).
Einstein liked the Arthur Sasse photo so much, he bought nine copies.
The photo, which was taken at a party to mark the physicist's 72nd birthday, was bought by a rare books and autographs dealer from Long Island, New York. (KL/WN/MJ)


* DICK PLAYS BLOODY RONALD MCDONALD IN PETA PROTEST
Comic ANDY DICK led a PETA protest in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday (18Jun09), dressed as a blood-spattered Ronald McDonald.
The newly-sober funnyman turned activist to slam McDonald's bosses for the way they treat chickens, which they slaughter and cook up for fast food fans.
He carried a cleaver, which he waved at motorists driving by McDonald's downtown Chicago location.
Dick shouted, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" to which fellow protesters chanted, "I'm hating it" - a reference to McDonald's slogan 'I'm loving it'.

* HILSON IN TALKS TO WORK WITH TROUBLED BROWN
Disgraced R&B star CHRIS BROWN is hoping to mount a chart comeback with the help of KERI HILSON once his assault case is over.
Hilson confirms she has been in talks with Brown, who will be in court in Los Angeles on Monday (22Jun09) to face charges he attacked and threatened the life of ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
She says, "Us working together will probably be the first project I've worked on as a songwriter in a while."
It won't be the first time Hilson and Brown have worked together - track Superhuman, while Hilson wrote Young Love for the R&B star.
The singer/songwriter can only hope that Brown and Rihanna resolve the upcoming court case quickly and amicably.
She adds, "It is unfortunate what they are going through."

* REBIRTH FOR DEATH ROW RAP ACTS
Fans of TUPAC SHAKUR are set for a birthday treat in 2010 thanks to the publishing company which has picked up the late rapper's Death Row back cataloge.
Bosses at music publisher EverGreen have signed a deal with a Canadian development company which acquired the assets of Death Row Records earlier this year (09), and they now plan to release the lost recordings of the label's biggest name to mark his 39th birthday in June 2010.
EverGreen executives and their partners at WIDEawake have already licensed Shakur's Death Row hit California Love and Snoop Dogg's Gin N Juice for TV shows and movies, and now there are big plans to release Shakur's forgotten tracks, as well as a collector's edition of Dr. Dre's The Chronic and material by Snoop Dogg and MC Hammer.
The new partnership will also make for a great Christmas for rap fans - there are plans to release several box sets this holiday season, including a four-CD collection of previously unreleased Death Row master recordings, according to Billboard.com.
WIDEawake Entertainment Group snapped up Death Row Records from bankruptcy in January (09). The label was previously owned by hip-hop heavyweight Marion 'Suge' Knight. (KL/WNWCBB/MJ)


* GELDOF STUDYING SCIENTOLOGY
PEACHES GELDOF has set her sights on becoming the latest celebrity convert to Scientology, according to new reports.
Live Aid hero Bob Geldof's socialite daughter has been spotted leaving a Church of Scientology center in Los Angeles.
And a source tells Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper that the teen has "started looking for fulfillment in life".
The insider adds, "She’d had a few crazy years learning to cope with fame and growing up and wanted to see whether she could gain anything in life from any faiths.
"So she went to a class and since then she’s spent a lot of time reading, attending classes in both New York and London and trying to understand Scientology a bit more.
"She’s not considering herself a Scientologist yet - but she’s enjoying learning about a new faith."

Rocker ALICE COOPER once had a scare when he found a boy in his daughter's bedroom, while she was taking a shower.
The School's Out hitmaker's kid Calico was a teenager when Cooper thought she was up to no good with a new pal.
He tells TheRockRadio.com, "There's this really good-looking guy sitting on her bed and she's taking a shower. I look at the guy... and he goes, 'Oh hello Mr. Cooper! Cali and I were just trying on clothes.' I went, 'Either this guy is really good or he's really gay.'
"Calico looked at me and she says 'We were trying on dresses.' He was gay and it was a relief to me!"
Speaking out on Father's Day (21Jun09), Cooper admits he set his three kids a tough task when it came to rebelling against him when they became teenagers: "There was no way to rebel because what are they going to do, dye their hair black and wear black lipstick?
