Beth Ditto Blames Gay Men for Size Zero Trend
The Gossip singer Beth Ditto says gay men in the fashion industry are toblame for the worrying size zero trend.
Plus-sized Beth, who has posed naked for this month's cover of NME magazine,
slammed homosexual designers for putting unrealistic pressure on women to be
skinny.
Beth told the music publication: "If there's anyone to blame for size zero,
it's not women. Blame gay men who work in the fashion industry and want
these women as dolls.
"Men don't know what it feels like to be a woman and be expected to look a
particular way. The Beckhams are part of the machine, Paris Hilton is part
of the machine.
"There's that thing Paris Hilton said about Lindsay Lohan, 'You're poor,
ugly and fat.' It's always women who are victims."
The openly lesbian singer - who is 5ft and weighs around 15 stones
(210lbs) - insists her supermodel pal Kate Moss understands what it's like
for women to be persecuted for being large, and is not to blame for the
alarming skinny trend.
She said: "I spent one night talking to Kate Moss and she said the most
amazing things about bodies. I didn't think I was going to like her, but she
said, 'Do you know what I hate, Beth? When people tell my big girlfriends,
'You have a beautiful face.' That's a really radical concept."
The 'Standing in the Way of Control' singer was named the coolest person in
rock by NME last year, and has posed in her underwear for Vogue magazine.

Courtney Love vs. Dr. Martens Shoe Co.
Courtney Love has slammed shoe manufacturer Dr. Martens for using her latehusband Kurt Cobain in an advertisement.
The Hole singer is furious with the company for using an image of Kurt
wearing black Dr. Martens boots, draped in an angelic robe and sitting on a
cloud.
Courtney has branded the advert "despicable" and insists the late Nirvana
frontman would never have agreed to it.
Her representative said: "Courtney had no idea this was taking place and
would never have approved it. She thinks it's outrageous that a company is
allowed to commercially gain from such a despicable use of her husband's
picture."
Kurt is one of several dead rock stars being used to promote Dr. Martens'
AirWair line. Sid Vicious from The Sex Pistols and The Ramones star Joey
Ramone also feature in the adverts, which have only been shown in the UK.
Courtney's representative added: "It does appear that in the UK what Dr.
Martens has done is allowed. Courtney did not, and would not, approve of
such a use of Kurt's name and likeness."
Kurt and Courtney married in 1992 and had a daughter Frances Bean, who is
now 14. Kurt committed suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun in 1994.
Meanwhile, Courtney is planning to sell many of her late husband's
possessions.
She said: "Most will go to charity since the money isn't what I'm that
interested in, but it's really an exchange of energy. "Obviously we'll keep
more than enough of his stuff - his monkey collection - things that mattered
to him for Frances and her family."

Courtney Love still sleeps in late husband Kurt Cobain's pyjamas.The widow of the Nirvana frontman wears his nightclothes to remind her of
him, but fears she will never find love unless she moves on.
Courtney is now planning to auction a host of Kurt's belongings, including
the beloved pyjamas.
She revealed to website Spinner.com: "I still wear his pyjamas to bed. How
am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing
Kurt's pyjamas?
" I'm going to have a Christie's auction. My house is like a mausoleum. My
daughter Frances doesn't need to inherit a giant bag full of flannel f***ing
shirts.
"A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' - that's
what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just f***ing sell.
"Everyone's been positive and behind me on it. We'll make a lot of money and
give a bunch of it to charity."
Courtney and Kurt married in 1992 and had a daughter, Frances Bean, who is
now 14. Heroin addict Kurt committed suicide by shooting himself with a
shotgun in 1994.
The former Hole singer also revealed she is working on a new solo album,
'Nobody's Daughter', on which she will sing about her past relationships
with Kurt, actor Edward Norton, and a man she recently dated but won't
identify.
She said: "There are two songs that are specifically about this guy.
"The rest of them have bits of Kurt, bits of Edward, bits of lots of people
in them."
No date has yet been set for the auction.

Today would have been Kurt Cobain's 40th birthday. It has been almost 13 years since Kurt has left us.
In so many different ways Kurt's music has inspired new musical talent which brought on a new era of music in the early 90's.
Just think what kind of creativity he would inspire if Kurt were here today.

Courtney Love Cashes in on Kurt Cobain
Courtney Love is in talks to make a film about her late husband Kurt Cobain.The Nirvana singer could be immortalized on the big screen after widow Love
acquired the rights to 'Heavier Than Heaven' - a biography written by
Charles Cross.
Love has confirmed the project is "in an embryonic stage" and she is
currently in talks with several studios.
She wrote on her website moonwashedrose.com: "It has no script and no
director attached, let alone stars.
"But if the movie is made it will of course be an A list and high end film."
If a deal is agreed, this will be the first authorized movie about Cobain,
his time in Nirvana and his relationship with Love.
'Last Days', considered by many to be director Gus Van Sant's unauthorized
account of Cobain's life, starred Michael Pitt as a Seattle musician whose
career bore a striking resemblance to Cobain's.
On April 8, 1994, Cobain was found dead in his home. He had committed
suicide by shooting himself in the head with a shotgun, although conspiracy
theorists now dispute he took his own life.
Love is currently working on her second solo album, tentatively titled 'How
Dirty Girls Get Clean'.
