Christina Aguilera is allegedly refusing to speak to her elderly grandparents.
The 'Beautiful' singer - who is estranged from her father Fausto, who she has said was a physically and emotionally abusive man - has been urged by her uncle to put aside her feelings and to reach out to her paternal grandparents before it's too late.
Johann Aguilera told America's Star magazine: "Christina's grandfather is 86 and her grandmother is 82. They have health issues.
"I don't know how much longer they're going to last. Time is running out."
Her grandparents would especially love to see Christina's four-year-old son Max, whose father is 'The Voice' star's ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Johann added: "I know how much joy it would give my parents if she came back into our lives again."
Christina, 31, made the decision herself to sever contact with her dad Fausto - a US army sergeant - in 1999.
The musician has accused Fausto of hitting her mother Shelly - who separated from him when Christina was just seven - during their marriage and she has recorded the songs 'I'm OK' and 'Oh Mother' about her difficult childhood.
In February, Christina did indicate she might be prepared to give her father another chance and reconcile her relationship with him.
She said: "I've talked about how rough things were for me and I'm sure he's heard it. He can't be thrilled about it. So maybe one day we can do lunch ... I'm 31 years old now. Maybe it's time."

Sandra Bullock was placed third in the list, for the $25 million she earned for forthcoming movie 'Gravity', as well as profits she is still making from 2009 film 'The Blind Side'.

Carrie Underwood knows her relationship with husband Mike Fisher is "not normal".
The country singer - who wed ice hockey player Mike in July 2010 - admits they "have their moments" as a couple because of her busy work schedule but they always manage to work things out eventually.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "He'll probably try for the rest of his life to really understand it. It's still a life to be honest, it's just the life that I lead. I know it's not normal, so we both have our moments when we have to try and figure things out."
Carrie considers herself a "strong female" because of her upbringing but would not say she is a "feminist".
She added: "I wouldn't go so far as to say I am a feminist, that can come off as a negative connotation. But I am a strong female. My parents raised me to be pretty independent and I grew up - I have sisters but they're a lot older than me - an only child. I feel like that contributes to how I handle myself and how I carry myself."
The 29-year-old beauty - who is currently in London - can even do traditionally more manly jobs around the house.
She added: "I fixed a washing machine a couple of days ago - so when I need to be I can be Miss Fix It!"
Carrie is performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London on June 21.
Keira Knightley would get drunk if she knew the world was going to end.
The 27-year-old actress admits she would much rather "drink an awful lot" before her time on earth was over rather than be sober in an attempt to forget what is going on around her.
Speaking at the Los Angeles Film Festival for the premiere of her latest comedy movie 'Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World' - which sees Dodge (Steve Carell) search for his high school sweetheart accompanied by Penny (Keira) when the pair learn the apocalypse is imminent - she said: "I'd drink an awful lot, I wouldn't want to be sober at the end of time."
As well as getting intoxicated, Kiera admits she would be so "terrified" of how much pain she would be in if a giant asteroid landed on the planet that the brunette beauty would hide in the corner of her room and break down in tears.
She told Britain's OK! magazine: "I'd hide in a corner and cry! I think! You know, we sort of went through all those kind of, 'What's on your list?' Like would you jump out of a plane? Would you go to an orgy? Would you take lots of drugs?
"Honestly, if someone said a meteor is going to destroy the earth in 20 days, I think I'd be so preoccupied with whether it was going to hurt or not that I'd just be terrified! And in a corner."
