Jay-Z & B Get Paid !!!
Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles have topped Forbes magazine's World's Highest Paid Celebrity Couples list 2012.
The power pair are estimated to have made $78 million together in the financial year ending May 1, moving them from second place in last year's list, behind Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, to first.
According to Forbes, Beyonce earned more in the last year than her husband, amassing $40 million from sponsorship deals, sales of her '4' album and royalties from her back catalogue. The figure is particularly impressive as she also took time off to have the couple's first baby, daughter Blue Ivy, who was born in January.
The rapper made an estimated $38 million from his 'Watch the Throne' album and tour with Kanye West, continuing sales of his 'Decoded' book as well as his many business interests, which include a nightclub and Roc Nation record label, management and music publishing company.
Relegated to second on the list were supermodel Gisele and NFL player Tom, who brought in an estimated $72 million, from her lucrative modeling deals and his four-year, $72 million contract extension with the New England Patriots. He has also made a foray into modeling, signing contracts with Under Armour and UGG Boots.
Third on the list were fashion designer Victoria and soccer player David Beckham who are worth $54 million.
In fourth place are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who banked an estimated $45 million, and fifth were Will and Jada Pinkett Smith who raked in an estimated $40 million.
Beyonce Knowles Advises Rita
Beyonce Knowles' best advice for Rita Ora was to "be yourself."
The 'R.I.P' singer - who is signed on to Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z's, record label Roc Nation - admits she was shocked to receive advice from the 'Love on Top' singer and has since acted on what she had to say.
She explained: "It's a compliment to be compared to Rihanna. But you do have to hold your own. If you know yourself then everything else will follow - that's what Beyonce told me.
"She was always one of my idols, so to have her in my face was amazing."
The 21-year-old star also revealed her plans for her own fashion line, as she takes style "seriously".
She told Marie Claire magazine: "I take fashion seriously. My tour outfit has been planned for months.
"I'm a big fan of Kim West, Balmain and JW Anderson. Right now it's about the music, but one day, I'll have a fashion line."
Beyonce Knowles & Chris Brown Triumph At BET Awards
Beyonce Knowles and Chris Brown won top honors at the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards last night.
'Love on Top' singer Beyonce was named Best Female R&B artist, while Chris took home the parallel award for Best Male. Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne project was named Best Group.
Elsewhere, Nicki Minaj was named Best Female Hip-Hop Artist for the third year running.
Accepting her award, she said: "I really, really appreciate BET for keeping this category alive, and I appreciate all the female rappers doing their thing, past, present and future."
The awards, held at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, also featured a series of emotional tributes to Whitney Houston - who was found dead in her hotel room in February - led by Mariah Carey.
She said: "I miss my friend. I miss hearing her voice and laughter, but we'll always have the music. We'll always have that voice we fell in love with, she inspired us all, we'll always have my friend Whitney Houston."
Singer Monica performed Whitney's 'I Love The Lord', followed by Brandy who sung 'I'm Your Baby Tonight' followed by 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'.
Whitney's brother Gary then sang 'Where You Are', followed by her mother Cissy, who performed 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', which received a standing ovation.
Tributes were also paid to the late Donna Summer, Dick Clark and Don Cornelius at the awards.
