Lil Mama Jumps Stage During Jay-Z/Keys MTV Performance

Lil Mama appears at 4:12

Jay-Z kept his cool after Lil Mama rushed the stage during the end of his duet with Alicia Keys at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The rapper was closing the ceremony at New York's Radio City Music Hall with a rousing rendition of his ode to the Big Apple, Empire State of Mind, when the Lip Gloss hitmaker jumped onstage and began bobbing her head to the beat. Jay-Z refused to put down his mic and tapped the rapper on her leg to usher her off the stage, before telling her, "You T-Paining right now!" The quip was in reference to his performance at the Summer Jam in New Jersey in June , when hip-hop star T-Pain joined Jay-Z onstage unannounced as he performed D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune). The evening's ceremony was full of unexpected stage invaders - earlier in the night, rapper Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, proclaiming the Best Female Video prize belonged to Jay-Z's wife Beyonce.

Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein's autopsy revealed he swallowed a handful of strong painkillers shortly before he died - according to a new U.S. report. The club icon was found dead in his downtown New York apartment on Friday August 28, aged 36. Goldstein's cause of death has yet to be released, but insiders tell People.com eight undigested OxyContin pills were found in his stomach, as well as a ninth in his mouth - suggesting his death was a suicide. A law enforcement source tells People.com, "He wanted to die. He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn't even swallow it."

The report adds that crack cocaine and a pipe were found by Goldstein's body. People.com's insider also alleges the DJ had barricaded himself in his apartment, placing mirrors against the front door and the door of his bedroom - where his body was found.

The source explains, "(He) smoked a lot of crack, barricaded the doors and killed himself."

The star's girlfriend Hayley Wood this week blasted claims he committed suicide because she dumped him, insisting they were still together when he died - but People.com's source reveals a Valentine's Day card she handed him back in February (09) was on a coffee table in the living room. Goldstein will be laid to rest on Thursday September 3.

World’s Greatest Rapper

Ludacris wants to end the debate over who's the world's greatest rapper - he's convinced it's him. Jay-Z is often hailed the best in the business, while others suggest Eminem and late legends Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur have a claim to the title - but Ludacris insists his last album Undisputed proves he's in a league of his own. The star - real name Chris Bridges - says, "Rap is real competitive just the same way boxing is. We always talk about taking other rappers out. That being said, I feel like I'm the best rapper. I wanted to get the best boxer in the game for my last album. That's why it's called Undisputed."

DangerMouse Album Scrapped Only a Blank CD

Superproducer Danger Mouse has been forced to scrap (on nrp now) his upcoming collaboration album following a legal dispute with his record company.

The Gnarls Barkley star - real name Brian Burton - teamed up with rockers Sparklehorse and legendary filmmaker David Lynch to produce a 13-track album, featuring contributions from Iggy Pop, The Strokes' Julian Casablancas, The Flaming Lips, and The Pixies.

The CD was to be accompanied by a photography book created by Lynch.

But now the record, titled Dark Night Of The Soul, will not be released, following a legal spat with record label EMI.

Although Burton has refused to comment on the nature of the dispute, he has shown his fury over the decision by going ahead with plans, but replacing the record with a blank disc carrying the label "For Legal Reasons, enclosed CD-R contains no music. Use it as you will."

A spokesperson for the star tells NME.com, "Danger Mouse remains hugely proud of Dark Night Of The Soul and hopes that people lucky enough to hear the music, by whatever means, are as excited by it as he is." (WENN/LR/WNWCNM/ZN)
