Britney Spears is "terrified" of testifying against her former manager.

Brit - who is being sued along with her parents by her ex-manager Sam Lutfi for breach of contract and defamation - is worried she might have to appear in court, despite her legal guardians insisting she isn't well enough to testify.



A source close to the star said: "She's terrified that she is going to be forced to testify even though the judge handling her conservatorship ruled she isn't mentally competent to participate.""

"Britney doesn't want to see Sam Lutfi or be in the same room with him again, ever."

"Sam's lawyer is still pushing the issue with the judge handling the lawsuit though and said during a hearing that he hadn't decided about whether or not he would call Spears as a witness."

Sam is reportedly planning to bring up damaging drug claims about the period before Britney's 2008 meltdown in the upcoming trial, as well as quizzing her about alleged statements made by her parents that he drugged her and cut her phone wires.

The pretty pop princess - who fired Sam in 2009 - is said to have banned her entourage from discussing the trial as she finds the thought of coming face-to-face with Sam again too "upsetting".

The insider added to Radar Online: "The Spears' family lawyers raised fierce objections and have vowed to wage a legal fight if Sam pushes the issue.

"Britney is terrified of Sam and has very bad memories about the time he was involved in her life.

"Brit is being kept busy with work on X Factor and her sons. The upcoming trial isn't discussed with her because it's just too upsetting."

Britney Spears has banned alcohol backstage at 'X Factor'.

Britney - who joined the panel of Simon Cowell's music talent hunt alongside Demi Lovato this year - has made sure she will not be tempted by booze, with her team banning the possibility of her accessing it.

According to USMagazine.com, her representatives said in a note: "Very important. We require you to empty minibars of all alcohol. And no gifts of wine or any other alcoholic beverages, please."

Drink is not the only thing Britney - who is also joined by L.A. Reid on the judging panel - is believed to have banned from the show; pretty women are also not allowed backstage.

A source said recently: "Britney has stipulated that none of the backstage staff working with her are too pretty or stylish."

However, the singer claims she is having a great time on the program, even though she did want to quit after shooting the first episode.

She said: "I was really nervous. You have all these people behind you and you know they're rooting on you. It's a really exciting, electrifying thing to do."

Britney Spears wants conservatorship to end

Britney Spears is "ready" for her conservatorship to end.

The 'X Factor' judge - whose legal and personal affairs have been in the hands of her father Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet since her much-publicized breakdown in 2008 - had a meeting with the judge in charge of the case last week and expressed her frustration that she has not yet regained control and can't understand why the legal restrictions are still in place.



A source told RadarOnline.com: "Britney told Judge Reva Goetz in her chambers with her court appointed attorney, Sam Ingham present, that she is ready for the conservatorship to end.

"Britney said she doesn't understand why it's still in place and expressed her belief that she has got to be the only person under a conservatorship that has managed to land a $15 million work contract [on 'The X Factor']."

Although Britney told the judge she is happy for the conservators to retain control of her career decisions, she doesn't understand why they are still in charge of her personal life.

The source continued: "Britney wants the conservatorship to end, it's fine with her if it stays in place as far as her business and professional life, but she wants to call the shots when it comes to her personal life.

"Britney pointed out to the judge that she will be on live television weekly this fall once 'X Factor' premiers on Fox in September and the tremendous progress she has made since the conservatorship was put in place."

However, despite Britney's wishes, it is unlikely the conservatorship will end any time soon.

The source said: "Britney's team of doctors just don't feel that she is ready for the conservatorship to end. They have specific concerns related to her mental health and aren't ready to tell the judge that Britney is ready to go it alone just yet. Judge Goetz is the only person that can end the conservatorship."

Another meeting is scheduled between Britney - who is engaged to Jason Trawick - and the judge within the next 60 days.
