Nicole Richie’s New Hair Extensions

Nicole Richie adds length to her short do with new extensions at Teddy's Nightclub in Hollywood on Saturday (03.25.06).

Richie blames her past drug addictions on having a happy childhood. The star - who has previously claimed to have gone through hell growing up - now says it was being spoilt by her adoptive dad Lionel Richie that pushed her over the edge.

She revealed: "I had a pretty fun childhood, but I just wanted to feel nothing. It wasn't that it was horrible and I wanted to feel better. I just didn't want to feel anything."

"Doing drugs kind of made me just forget and not feel anything, for a second. I think it's a combination of things. Partly just me wanting to be older - it's what the older kids were doing at the time."

But the 'Simple Life' star doesn't think being brought up in Hollywood is an excuse for her experimenting with narcotics in her teens. Nicole confessed to Tatler magazine: "I could easily say yes it was, but people also have drug problems in Kansas.

"So I don't know whether, if I had lived somewhere else, it would have been a problem. I'd say it probably would have been, not matter where I grew up."

Nicole Richie Could Be MILF Material

Nicole Richie sparked outrage while filming the new series of 'The Simple Life' by crudely asking an 11-year-old boy if she was a 'MILF'.

The sexy star approached the youngster as she pushed a baby carriage along his street, in the Castaic neighbourhood of Los Angeles, and asked him the lewd question. When the puzzled boy told Nicole he didn't know what she meant, she replied:

"It means a 'Mother I'd like to f***.'"

Two cameramen and another film crew recorded the impromptu exchange. The boy's shocked father, who heard the entire conversation, was left fuming and refused to sign consent forms allowing the clip to be used. He has now reportedly complained to the show's production company, Bunim-Murray Productions.

The 11-year-old's parents claim Nicole's foul-mouthed question resulted in an embarrassing discussion with their son.

His mother said: "I'm 90 percent mad but a little part of me says, 'Stop being a prude.' I guess I just don't want my son to grow up that fast."

Nicole and former best friend Paris Hilton are currently shooting the fourth series of the popular reality show - but because of their feud neither will appear on camera together at the same time.
