Sir Elton John's wedding guests left his £1million bash early, it's been claimed.

Several stars invited to Elton's mansion to celebrate his 'marriage' to long-time lover David Furnish on Wednesday (12.21.05) reportedly left before 2am.

Some left as early as midnight, when the celebration was still in full swing.

Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham was one of those to put in a brief appearance, arriving at 9pm and leaving just over three hours later.

She was followed by supermodel Claudia Schiffer and designer Donatella Versace.

A partygoer told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "By midnight there were barely 300 people left. The car park was the busiest area."

Meanwhile it's been revealed a host of stars and dignitaries turned down invitations to the bash.

According to a secret list obtained by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Prince Charles, Prime Minister Tony Blair and former US president Bill Clinton were among those originally asked.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and her husband Michael Douglas, Bette Midler and actor Tom Hanks also missed the big night.

A source revealed: "Although Elton had said he wanted his reception to be low key, he invited almost every famous name you can think of. The original list was extraordinary.

"Invites went to Downing Street, Clarence House and Hollywood, but the Prime Minister, Prince Charles and a large number of celebrities declined. They said they had previous work commitments and for some of them there just wasn't enough notice."

David Beckham has bought super-slim wife Victoria a calorie-laden chocolate fountain for Christmas.

The soccer ace reportedly ordered a personal shopper at London's swanky Harrods store to pick up the super-sweet treat for the former Spice Girl.

The fountain is made up of falling rivers of Belgian chocolate, which sweets and biscuits can be dipped into fondue-style.

The hunky 30-year-old also bought Victoria and their three sons a host of other gifts at the famous store - forking out £1,500.

He splashed out on games and toys for the couple to enjoy during the festive season and bought King Kong outfits for five-year-old Brooklyn and three-year-old Romeo.

He also purchased a hobby horse for 11-month-old Cruz.

A source revealed: "He planned to visit the store but couldn't make it over from Spain."

Earlier this month it was revealed David earned an incredible £4,700 a day last year - totalling £17million in 2004.

The sports ace made £1million every three weeks through wages and from his team Real Madrid and various sponsorship deals.

Mariah Carey Turns Down Eight Fur Coats

Mariah Carey has won over animal lovers after turning down a gift of eight fur coats from a Russian businessman.

The superstar singer refused to accept the lavish present and gave the coats to animal welfare group PETA instead.

Carey hopes the organisation will use the politically incorrect furs in their anti-cruelty campaigns.

Meanwhile, Mariah has revealed she pays for her pet pooch to fly privately.

The pop diva admits she is so besotted with her Jack Russell - called Jack - she doesn't like him to fly economy with strangers.

She said: "My dog flies private! He's too big to travel economy. He's not a little tiny dog he's a Jack Russell - he's a very masculine dog.

"I'm not going to put him back with someone I don't know who might feed him or something - he's my dog."
