Britney Spears is "ready" for her conservatorship to end.
The 'X Factor' judge - whose legal and personal affairs have been in the hands of her father Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet since her much-publicized breakdown in 2008 - had a meeting with the judge in charge of the case last week and expressed her frustration that she has not yet regained control and can't understand why the legal restrictions are still in place.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Britney told Judge Reva Goetz in her chambers with her court appointed attorney, Sam Ingham present, that she is ready for the conservatorship to end.
"Britney said she doesn't understand why it's still in place and expressed her belief that she has got to be the only person under a conservatorship that has managed to land a $15 million work contract [on 'The X Factor']."
Although Britney told the judge she is happy for the conservators to retain control of her career decisions, she doesn't understand why they are still in charge of her personal life.
The source continued: "Britney wants the conservatorship to end, it's fine with her if it stays in place as far as her business and professional life, but she wants to call the shots when it comes to her personal life.
"Britney pointed out to the judge that she will be on live television weekly this fall once 'X Factor' premiers on Fox in September and the tremendous progress she has made since the conservatorship was put in place."
However, despite Britney's wishes, it is unlikely the conservatorship will end any time soon.
The source said: "Britney's team of doctors just don't feel that she is ready for the conservatorship to end. They have specific concerns related to her mental health and aren't ready to tell the judge that Britney is ready to go it alone just yet. Judge Goetz is the only person that can end the conservatorship."
Another meeting is scheduled between Britney - who is engaged to Jason Trawick - and the judge within the next 60 days.
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger celebrated their engagement by partying in Las Vegas.
The couple were "super cuddly and affectionate" as they drank Dom Perignon champagne and Grey Goose vodka in the gambling city on Tuesday to celebrate their forthcoming marriage after the Nickelback frontman popped the question to his girlfriend of six months on August 8.
An eyewitness told Life & Style magazine: "They went to 1 Oak Nightclub in Las Vegas on August 21 to celebrate their engagement.
"Avril arrived first with a bunch of male friends and bodyguards, then Chad showed up later and met them inside. Avril was so excited to see her man.
"They were super cuddly and affectionate. They drank Dom Pérignon and Grey Goose."
A wedding date is yet to be set for the pair's nuptials, but vodka looks sure to be on the menu as Chad revealed the 27-year-old singer is a big fan of drinking the spirit.
He recently said: "She can pound the vodka."
The 37-year-old rocker previously revealed the pair had some "amazing" chemistry when they were working on new music in the studio and he admitted the 'What the Hell' singer has "a lot of tricks in her arsenal".
He explained: "We just started flying on all these songs ... 'Let's do another one, let's do another one.' It was amazing."
The marriage will be the second for Avril - who wed Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley in July 2006, splitting three years later - but it is Chad's first.
Nicki Minaj has unveiled the bottle for her new fragrance.
Colorful Nicki took to her twitter account to show her 14.2 million followers the image of her Pink Friday scent's container, which bears a striking resemblance to the rapper when she sports a long pink wig.
It also has a significant cleavage.
Nicki has described the smell of the fragrance - which will be released in late September - as similar to "angels playing" and she says it will come packaged in "dope box sets".
She said in a statement: "I am so excited about my fragrance debut, and am proud to partner with Give Back Brands for such a personal project.
"I have always been a huge fan of great fragrances; this is yet another extension of my creative expression and I can't wait to share it with the world. I designed this scent and bottle with my Barbz in mind; I know they will love it!"
Give Back Brands is the same company behind Justin Bieber's Somebody scent.
The 29-year-old star recently admitted she likes her smells to make her feel "sexy and confident".
She said "I like scents that feel summery, but have a va-va-voom. I want to smell like a sexy and confident woman, not like candy."
