Batman Is Boring In A Stupid Cape
David Cronenberg says Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy is "mostly boring".
The 'Cosmopolis' helmer slammed his fellow director's three action movies - 'Batman Begins', 'The Dark Knight' and 'The Dark Knight Rises', which star Christian Bale as the titular character - criticizing the filmmaker for spending so much money on the franchise, which he believes simply portrays the superhero "running around in a stupid cape".
He said: "I don't think they are making them an elevated art form. I think it's still Batman running around in a stupid cape. I just don't think it's elevated. Christopher Nolan's best movie is 'Memento', and that is an interesting movie.
"I don't think his Batman movies are half as interesting though they're 20 million times the expense. What he is doing is some very interesting technical stuff, which, you know, he's shooting IMAX and in 3-D. That's really tricky and difficult to do.
"I read about it in American Cinematography Magazine, and technically, that's all very interesting. The movie, to me, they're mostly boring."
David also hit out at people who are trying to suggest 'The Dark Knight Rises' is a piece of "supreme cinema art" because he believes the superhero movie is mainly aimed at kids.
He added to Next Movie: "A superhero movie, by definition, you know, it's comic book. It's for kids. It's adolescent in its core.
"That has always been its appeal, and I think people who are saying, you know, ''Dark Knight Rises' is, you know, supreme cinema art.' I don't think they know what the f**k they're talking about."
Lady Gaga releasing new single
Lady Gaga is releasing a new track, 'Partynauseous', next month.
The song is a collaboration between the eccentric singer and rap star Kendrick Lamar.
She tweeted: "I am so excited to announce that a record I've been working on has now become a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for HIS ALBUM (sic).
"Kendrick Lamar and I are dropping the record September 6. It's called 'Partynauseous'."
Gaga explained her part of the song is based on an incident earlier this year, when she was banned from performing in Jakarta, Indonesia, on her 'Born This Way Ball' tour after hardline extremists in the Muslim country complained her sexy clothes and dance routines would corrupt young people.
She added: "I wrote "PARTYNAUSEOUS" about Jakarta, and my relationship with that country (sic). Wishing I could "get high with the enemy" and make peace (sic). Once @kendricklamar + I started talking about life + his forward thinking views about love + hip hop, the song became something more (sic)."
The track will be released on Kendrick's debut album, 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'. Meanwhile Gaga is also preparing her next album, 'ARTPOP', for release, announcing it recently by posting a picture of the title tattooed on her arm.
Lindsay Lohan Spent Thousands On Surfing
Lindsay Lohan splurged almost $3,000 on surfing equipment.
The sexy actress splashed out $2,723 at the famous Jack's surf shop in Huntington Beach, Orange county, on Friday August 10, but all the items were for her 16-year-old brother Cody.
According to gossip website TMZ, the store gave Lindsay a 30 per cent discount on her purchases.
Despite the huge shopping spree, the bill is unlikely to upset the troubled actress as it was recently revealed she has already earned an estimated $2 million this year.
Half the amount came from her posing for the December 2011 issue of Playboy magazine - with the pay check not coming through until earlier this year - while she also took home $300,000 for 'Liz and Dick' and $6,480 for 'The Canyons'.
Additionally, she will land a $200,000 fee when she signs on to appear with Charlie Sheen in 'Scary Movie 5' and received a payment for her guest appearance on 'Glee'.
Endorsement deals, including for Jag Jeans and as the face of Philipp Plein, have also boosted her earnings.
She also earns between $2,000 and $10,000 for tweeting about various companies.
Keanu Reeves pleased with Bill and Ted 3
Keanu Reeves is pleased with how 'Bill & Ted 3' is coming along.
The actor is reprising his role as Ted Logan in the follow-up to 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' and 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey' and he says it's interesting to see how the duo are coping now they're middle-aged men rather than carefree teenagers.

Keanu - who will once again star alongside Alex Winter - said: "We have a nice story. We'll see if anyone else wants to make it."
The star was then asked about the various challenges of imagining Bill and Ted as middle-aged men and replied: "One of the plot points is that these two people have been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven't done it. So everybody is kind of like: 'Where is the song?' "
Although he didn't reveal too much about the storyline, Keanu, 47, admits the pair have lost some of their sparkle from the first two films and it needs finding again.
He told GQ: "The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock. And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future 'us' refuses to tell us, and another future 'us' blames us for their lives because we didn't write the song, so they're living this terrible life. In one version we're in jail; in another we're at some kind of highway motel and they hate us."
Kate Moss Is Into Quantum Theory & Space
Kate Moss is fascinated by advanced mathematics and science - in particular astrophysics and quantum theory.
The 38-year-old model has been hanging around with the likes of Professor Brian Cox, 44.
Formerly the keyboardist in Nineties band D:Ream - known for the original version of 'Things Can Only Get Better' - particle physicist Brian said he recently met the supermodel at a party.
Apparently she asked him all sorts of questions about outer space and claimed she knew quite a lot about the often considered difficult subject.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Kate was asking me some extraordinarily detailed things about the universe. She really knows her stuff.
"She also had some questions from her daughter Lila Grace which were pretty complicated. I was impressed."
Apparently Kate and her nine-year-old daughter are obsessed with Brian's shows, especially his recent program 'Wonders Of The Universe', which sought to answer difficult questions of why humans are here on Earth and where we come from.
Kate said Brian's television show fascinated her and now she can't stop contemplating the strange mysteries of the cosmos.
