No Wedding Bells or Children in Mariah Carey’s Future

Mariah Carey has ruled out ever getting married again.

The singer, who was previously married to Sony records boss Tommy Mottola, says she has no intention of tying the knot in the future because her first union was such a disaster.

She told New York Post newspaper: "I don't know if I ever want to get married again. My last experience was so oppressive. You know, Tommy called the head of my record label on the day my last album came out to find out what it sold. He still can't leave it alone. Why can't he focus on his wife?"

Mariah, who is rumoured to have a new man in her life, has also ruled out ever starting a family because she doesn't think its fair for children to be thrust into the spotlight of fame.

She added: "I don't know if children are on the cards for me. It wouldn't be fair to a child to be born a celebrity. It would be very difficult."

Mariah, then 23, met 43-year-old Tommy Mottola at a party in 1988, and the pair eventually wed in June 1993. The pair separated in 1997 and divorced a year later.

After their split, the 'Butterfly' singer complained her husband had been so possessive and jealous during their marriage he would even spy on her when she had friends over to their house.





It's no wonder why she has to dress like this just to take her dog out for a walk. Carey is developing a new line of pet products especially for her dog Jack called Pup Star.

On his kids: "It's completely unfair when a child is brought into this world an now he's already looked at like a prince. My kids are going to have to learn what a real job is, what life is. You don't have it easy with me. Period....My kids are going to work at Taco Bell, dammit."

On his media conspiracy theory: "The same day Dick Cheney shoots someone, they've got me on the cover of MSN [Web site]. It's life they're diverting attention from what's really going on."
