Gwyneth Paltrow was told her breasts looked liked "two fried eggs" by her grandfather.
The 40-year-old actress wanted to prepare the older members of her family for when she went topless in 1998 movie 'Shakespeare in Love', but her concerns just sparked ridicule.
She joked: "In 'Shakespeare in Love' I had to take my shirt off and be naked and I was worried because my granddad was a very conservative person.
"So before he got in the cinema, I told him that I had to do it because it was a very important role for me and all that. And he just said, 'Don't worry, that will be like two eggs in a pan.' "
Gwyneth won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the movie, and she admits she has very little memory of her victorious evening because she got so drunk after tearfully accepting her statuette.
Speaking on Spanish TV show 'El Hormiguero', she said: "When I won the Oscar I was really surprised, I can't explain it, I couldn't feel myself in my own body, it was unbelievable. I was just 26, I was too young. My parents where there for me, and they were so proud.
"At the party after winning the Oscar I saw the actresses who I was nominated with - I remember talking to Cate Blanchett. But nobody was upset or was unkind to me, although I was too drunk to notice anything."
The blonde beauty - who has two children, Apple, eight, and Moses, six, with husband Chris Martin - was very close to her father Bruce Paltrow, who died of cancer in 2002, and revealed he took her to Paris for the first time when she was just 10 years old because he wanted to show how much he loved her.
She recalled: "When I was 10, my dad took me to Paris while my mum was shooting in England, and my brother was with her.
"So there I was, in the Red Hotel, a super posh place, eating french fries. And when we were heading back to London, my dad told me, 'Do you know why it's just the two of us in Paris? Because I wanted you to be in Paris for the first time with a man who will love you forever.' "
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have splashed out on a six bedroom house in Los Angeles.
The couple - who are based in London, England, with their children Apple, eight, and six-year-old Moses - are said to have paid close to the $10.45 million asking price for the property, which also has eight bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and a stable block built into the tree-lined grounds.
The house was built by famed architect Windsor Smith in 2011 and was initially listed for $11.96 million last September before being reduced recently.
In October 2011, the 8,000 square foot property covered Veranda magazine, with the publication calling in a host of big-name interior designers to give the house a makeover.
Although Martyn Lawrence's "Studio 54-Halston vibe" media room appears to have gone, many of the features introduced appear to remain in recent pictures of the property.
These include an extra-wide entry hall with flooring made from stones from a Peruvian schoolhouse, kitchen cabinetry inspired by sycamore trees, Calacatta-marble kitchen countertops and a master dressing room with bathtub in the middle.

The 'Contagion' star - who has children Apple, eight, and Moses, six, with husband Chris Martin - recently became enamored when she saw a skull and crossbone-design on a baby and was shocked when she discovered they were created by her friend Jessica Alba.
Writing in her GOOP! newsletter, she said: "A few weeks ago, I saw a friend of mine's kid wearing these super-cool skull and bones diaper and I asked where they were from. It turns out they're from a brand founded by Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan.
"Not only are they incredibly cute, but they're also made from plant based materials, are completely non-toxic and are free from any harmful chemicals. I wish they'd been around when my kids were in diapers."
However upon exploring Jessica's brand further, Gwyneth - who has her own cookbook - discovered bath products she plans to use on her family.
She added: "I'm excited about their cleaning and bathing products and have already ordered a bundle myself."
Jessica set up the brand to help other parents find eco-friendly items for their children that were also "designed beautifully".
She told GOOP!: "I thought, 'Wouldn't it be great if there was one company I could get all my daily essentials from - from diapers to cleaning to bath time - and I could trust that they would be safe, eco-friendly, affordable and effective, as well as designed beautifully and delivered to my doorstep?'
"What a relief it would be for me, and many parents, to have this kind of resource! I wanted and desperately needed this kind of company - so I decided to work with Christopher to create an amazing experience."
One word. Stunning. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow's Harper's Bazaar photoshoot for the March 2012 issue is probably one of her best ever. In the US edition of the magazine, Gwyneth reveals how she cooks for her family every night, eats cheese, and would rather have her wrinkles then a Botox injection.
