Christina Applegate To Return For Anchorman Sequel
Christina Applegate is to return for the 'Anchorman' sequel.
The 40-year-old star looks set to reprise her role as Veronica Corningstone in the follow up to the 2004 comedy movie starring Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy after producer Judd Apatow confirmed she is onboard to appear in the forthcoming motion picture.
When asked if Christina will make an appearance in the movie, Judd told E!: "She will be back."
Judd is also hoping the movie will follow on from the first film - which starred Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, who are both expected to return for the sequel - and feature a number of celebrity cameos after attracting Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson for the original motion picture.
He added: "I know that they want to do a lot of that. I just don't know who they're specifically thinking about."
Christina has previously signalled her intentions to return for the sequel, despite admitting last week that she is yet to receive a formal offer to star in the project.
She said: "I really don't know the status or if it's all going to happen.
"Of course I would love to be there. They know that. The world knows that. Why would I not want to? It's the best job I've ever had. They know that I want to be there. Even if it's just a walk-on."
'Anchorman' director Adam McKay has previously revealed the sequel won't start shooting until February 2013.

At the 'Hall Pass' premiere on Wednesday, ET asked Christina Applegate if she will guest star on NBC's "The Office" this season.(ET Online)
"That was a joke that [Jenna Fischer and I] were just talking about when we were sitting there because Will Ferrell is there right now," said Applegate, refuting the rumors. "Working with Will and Steve [Carell] was one of the greatest moments of my whole life and I was just saying how I wanted to be a fly on the wall basically."
But "The Office" star Jenna Fischer fanned hope of an 'Anchorman' reunion, saying, "That's our master plan. If we have our way she will be [appearing on the show]."

Christina Applegate’s Right Action For Women

Meanwhile Applegate, a cancer survivor, is launching a charity to help at-risk women who can't afford the proper preventative care.
The Anchorman star will launch Right Action For Women in September and hopes the project will aid women get any cancer detected early.
She tells WENN, "It's a program giving financial aid to high-risk women who can't afford to get MRIs, which is how I found my cancer.
"It's unfortunate that insurance companies (in America) don't cover the cost of that. It's such an incredible device because you can find it at an early detection stage. We started our pilot program and started helping women already, even though we aren't launched.
"The other aspect of the program is to do genetic counseling and help women understand what being high-risk means, and understanding what foods are good for their bloods and how to prevent this disease from happening. That has been my mission."
It's a happy time for Applegate - as well as launching the new charity drive, she also has new films coming out and recently announced she is expecting her first child.
