MTV Video Music Awards 2012 Info

Rihanna and Drake lead the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 with five nominations each.

The singer and rapper share a nod in the Best Video category, for their collaboration 'Take Care', while Rihanna also has another nomination in the coveted section, for her 'We Found Love' single. Also nominated for Best Video are Katy Perry for 'Wide Awake', Gotye for 'Somebody That I Used To Know' and M.I.A. for her song 'Bad Girls'.

Katy is second in the nominations list with four nods, while artists including M.I.A. and Coldplay have three each.

Scoring their first ever nominations at the event are artists including The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepsen, A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean and Gotye.

The awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 7, and feature performances from Alicia Keys - who will sing an entirely new track - and boy band One Direction.

Katy Perry Is New Face Of Popchips

Katy Perry is the new face of Popchips.

The 'Wide Awake' singer has become an official representative of the potato snack and is also investing in the company.

Katy is describing herself as the brand's creative partner and she is very excited to be working with the company because she is totally "hooked" on the crunchy treat.

In a statement, she said: "I remember it was late at night, and I was craving a midnight snack without the guilt. The bag stood out in the minibar, and I was pleasantly surprised when I read the back of the label and saw that it was a healthier choice. I was hooked after my first bite!"

Popchips is delighted to be teaming with the 27-year-old pop star and they are working with her on a print and TV advertising campaign that will first appear this autumn.

The company said: "We are thrilled to announce that Katy Perry, global pop superstar and long-time fan of Popchips, has joined as an investor, ambassador and new face of the brand. What started out as a snack craving for Katy has turned into an exciting partnership that will combine Katy's unique style and personality with our mission to put the fun back in snacking."

Katy isn't the first celebrity to team up with Popchips.

Other stars to invest in the company include Ashton Kutcher, David Ortiz and P. Diddy.

Popchips are a healthy alternative to regular potato chips and because of the high pressure cooking technique they contain less than half the fat of snacks that have been fried.

Katy Perry Is Bouncing Back After Split

Katy Perry has "landed on her feet" since splitting from Russell Brand.

The 'Teenage Dream' hitmaker's forthcoming 3D movie 'Part of Me' features footage shot around the time she split from the British actor after 14 months of marriage last December and she wanted to include the clips to show people
they can bounce back from their difficulties.

She said: "I think if you were to see the movie and it was completely avoided, you'd think, 'Hmm that's strange, I know something else happened in her life last year.'

"So I wanted to handle it delicately with the most integrity I could and show, 'Yeah I'm going through the same situation that half of America goes through and somehow I landed on my feet, so you don't have to lay down and die like you think.'

"Just because you're in the spotlight doesn't mean you get to dodge the curveballs - they're actually bigger."

Despite her insistence on including the intimate scenes, Katy admits it didn't make for comfortable viewing.

She told TV talk show host Jay Leno: "It wasn't always exciting to watch those unflattering scenes where I'm crying and having an intense moment but I think people will relate to me more seeing me at my lowest point and now at my highest point."
