Why Kirsten Dunst Became Depressed
Kirsten Dunst became depressed because she was “dependent on other people’s approval”.The ‘Spider-Man’ actress checked into Utah's Cirque Lodge treatment facility – which counts Lindsay Lohan and Eva Mendes among its former patients - in February to be treated for depression, which she claims was brought on by her need to please others.
She said: “When you spend your entire life as a child actress, being told where to go and where to stand, you’re performing constantly for people. It definitely breeds the kind of person who’s dependent on other people’s approval.
“If I’d trusted myself and listened to myself all the times that I ignored myself, I would have been fine. But everyone has to learn their lesson, and now I’ve got it.”
The 26-year-old star, who was treated at the facility for several weeks, is now feeling “great” but is wary of talking about her experience too much.

She explained to Harper’s Bazaar magazine : “I'm great. I don't want to go into too much detail because I give a quote and then it's blogged about for the rest of my life on the internet.”
The actress also laughed off rumors she is dating Drew Barrymore’s ex-boyfriend Justin Long, claiming she barely even knows him.
She said: “Those rumors are the funniest thing on planet Earth. I don't know him from Adam. I met him once and he and his friend were kind enough to walk me home. I've never seen him since.”

Kirsten Dunst is reportedly dating Ryan Gosling.
The 'Spider-Man' actress - who recently left rehab after being treated for an undisclosed problem - has been spending a lot of time with her 'All Good Things' co-star, sparking rumors they are more than just friends.

A fellow diner who saw the pair enjoying a romantic meal at New York's Freeman's restaurant on Saturday (04.05.08) said: "They were definitely acting like they were on a date. They lingered there for hours."
Last month, it was claimed Kirsten was dating a fellow patient at Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab center.
A source said: "The staff have asked the two of them to separate many times. She sits on his lap while smoking cigarettes and they often take walks together.
"He has even phoned his mother and asked her to send Kirsten flowers from him. He is trying to be as romantic as it is possible to be in rehab."

Kirsten - who split from Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell last year - previously dated Jake Gyllenhaal before splitting from him in 2004.
Kirsten Dunst Finds a New Man in Rehab
Kirsten Dunst has reportedly found a new boyfriend in rehab. The 'Spider-Man' actress - who is currently seeking treatment for an
undisclosed problem at Utah's Cirque Lodge facility - is said to have got
close to a fellow patient and the pair are said to be inseparable.
An insider told In Touch Weekly magazine: "The staff have asked the two of
them to separate many times. She sits on his lap while smoking cigarettes,
they often take walks together.
"He has even phoned his mother and asked her to send Kirsten flowers at the
facility from him. He is trying to be as romantic as it is possible to be in
rehab."

Kirsten isn't the only celebrity to have found love at Cirque Lodge.
Lindsay Lohan met and started dating snowboarder Riley Giles while she was
being treated the center last year.
After enjoying a rehab romance, the pair continued their relationship after
leaving, but soon split up. Riley later publicly revealed intimate details
of his sex life with Lindsay.
Kirsten Dunst Is In Rehab
The ‘Spider-Man’ actress has reportedly checked intoUtah’s Cirque Lodge facility to receive help for an unknown problem.
A source inside the facility told America’s Star magazine: “She desperately
needed help. She seemed to be intoxicated when she checked in because she
was acting really erratic. She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking
down in tears.
"She not in a good place right now, but thankfully, she's getting the help
she needs."

Kirsten’s self-committal comes after she behaved erratically at Utah’s
Sundance Film Festival.
A source said: “Kirsten is on the verge of a breakdown. She came late, left
early and acted erratic at all the Sundance events.”
Kirsten’s spokesperson denied she acted strangely at the festival saying:
“Kirsten is fine.”
The 25-year-old actress is a keen supporter of the campaign to get marijuana
legalized in the US.
She said: “I drink moderately, I've tried drugs. I do like weed. I have a
different outlook on marijuana than America does.
“I've never been a major smoker, but I think America's view on weed is
ridiculous. I mean - are you kidding me? If everyone smoked weed, the world
would be a better place.”

The Utah facility is popular among celebrities.
Lindsay Lohan and Mary-Kate Olsen have both sought help in the treatment
centre, while ‘Hitch’ star Eva Mendes checked out yesterday after
being treated for “some personal issues”.
Kirsten Dunst Hates Action

Kirsten Dunst hates doing "boring" action films.
The 'Spider-Man 3' actress, who played Mary Jane Watson in one of the most
successful adventure franchises of all time, finds shooting action scenes
"boring" and complicated.
She said: "Action movies really entail sitting in a trailer all day and not
doing anything. You get there at six in the morning, you get all dressed up,
put your make-up on and it seeps into your pores all day long and it's
really boring.
"I always have a lot of action in these films, and I don't like it.
Everything that you see in the great action clips take weeks and months,
each moment takes a day. It involves screaming, cars, heights, and it's very
technical and complicated."
The 25-year-old actress, who recently had her first directorial experience
shooting short film 'Welcome' found it strange being on the other side of
the camera.
Kirsten said: "You think you have control over everything, but you really
don't. You really have to have a strong presence and be the leader, but
there are always things that come up that are so unexpected, so you really
have to roll with the punches."
Kirsten directed 'Welcome', a modern day ghost story starring Winona Ryder,
for Glamour magazine's 'Reel Moments'.
