Kirsten Dunst Didn’t Want Kevin Spacey

Kirsten Dunst turned down a role in 'American Beauty' because she couldn't
bear the thought of kissing Kevin Spacey.

The 'Marie Antoinette' actress was originally tipped to play the teenager
lusted after by Spacey, but was so against the idea of sharing a steamy
scene with him she passed.

Dunst, 24, told Entertainment Weekly magazine: "I was only 15 then and I
didn't want to kiss Kevin Spacey or be seen lying naked in those rose
petals."

Mena Suvari later landed the role of teenage temptress Angela Hayes in the
1999 film which went on to win five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best
Actor for Spacey.

Dunst's big break came when she starred in 'Interview with the Vampire'
alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

The movie featured a scene in which an 11-year-old Kirsten had to kiss Brad
Pitt, who was 29.

Meanwhile, the actress says she understands why her new film 'Marie
Antoinette' was booed at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

She said: "I didn't take it to heart. How would Americans feel about the
French doing a movie about George Washington with French actors?"

Kirsten Dunst Doesn’t Need Booty

Kirsten Dunst is happy being single.

The 'Spider-Man' actress has been alone since splitting from boyfriend Jake
Gyllenhaal
in 2004 after dating him for two years.

Dunst insists she is not looking for a new relationship and enjoys being on
her own.

She told Britain's Now magazine: "I'm not desperate to start another
relationship. I'm just enjoying my new freedom."

Dunst has also revealed she regrets missing out on her childhood.

The Hollywood star got her first big acting break at the early age of 11
alongside Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in 'Interview With The Vampire'.

Although she is grateful the movie catapulted her into the limelight, Dunst
insists starting a film career so early in life resulted in her losing out
as a child.

She explained: "I had to grow up very fast in the adult world of acting. I
also had financial responsibilities for my family, which made me feel old
before my time.

"I regret that I've done so much in such a short time, I've missed out on a
lot of my childhood."

The 24-year-old star insists she would never let her children follow in her
footsteps.

She said: "I know that if I have kids, I'll never put them through the same
thing."
