Emma Watson returning to Brown

Emma Watson is set to return to Brown University early next year.

'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' actress - who began her studies at the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, campus in 2009 and studied there for two years before completing her third year at Oxford University in South England - is set to return to the prestigious university in January after taking an unofficial gap-year to concentrate on her career.

A spokesperson for the starlet told the Mail Online: "Emma is planning on returning to studies in January."

The 22-year-old actress is said to be hoping to finally secure her degree in English there after previously admitting she found her first two years there extremely difficult.



She said: "My first two years at Brown weren't easy, not because I was bullied or because anyone gave me a particularly hard time, but just because, you know, without the collegiate system . . . and at Brown everyone does completely different things and very much chooses their own path, which is great, but it's also much more difficult, too. You're not with a group of people all the time at one time."

The British star - who shot to fame playing Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' film series - admitted her success makes it difficult for her to go out in public unnoticed.

She said: "If I went to somewhere busy, I wouldn't last very long. I can't go to a museum, I'll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum. The problem is that when one person asks for a photograph, then someone sees a flash goes off, then everyone else sort of... it's sort of like a domino effect. And then very quickly the situation starts to get out of control to a point where I can't manage it on my own."

Emma Watson is the frontrunner to play Anastasia Steele in the upcoming 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie.

The 22-year-old actress - who starred as schoolgirl Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' franchise - is reportedly in talks about portraying the female protagonist in the film - which is based on E. L. James' best-selling erotic novel of the same name - who is the love interest of lead male Christian Grey.

'The Vampire Diaries' hunk Ian Somerhalder - who won the Choice Male Hottie prize at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday - is favorite to play Christian, the male protagonist of the book who introduces Anastasia to the world of bondage and kinky sex, International Business Time reports.

James has chosen 'The Social Network' producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti to cast the roles of the charismatic billionaire and the young college student, but no stars have officially been cast.

Kristen could team up with her boyfriend and 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson for the movie after admitting she is "dying" to make another motion picture with the 26-year-old star.

When asked recently if she would be interested in appearing in a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie, the brunette beauty said: "I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know.

"But I'm dying to make another movie with Rob. I think we're a good team, and whatever it is needs to be so ridiculously ambitious ... but I'd love to work with him again."

Kristen looks set to face competition from Scarlett Johansson for the lead female role and Ryan Gosling and Chris Pine have also been linked with the portrayal of Christian.
