Kiefer Sutherland Didn’t Do Anything Wrong

Kiefer Sutherland has denied any “wrongdoing” following his alleged assault
of a fashion designer.

The ‘24’ actor – who is accused of headbutting Proenza Schouler designer
Jack McCollough and breaking his nose in New York last week – has released a
statement via his attorney Michael C. Miller insisting he was not at fault.

Miller said: “We are troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information
circulating regarding Kiefer Sutherland and events of last Monday evening
(05.04.09). We are confident, however, that the investigation being
conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and the NYPD will
confirm that Kiefer Sutherland was neither the instigator nor a wrongdoer in
this incident.

“Out of respect for this law enforcement process, Kiefer will not be making
any comment.”

It is alleged Kiefer, 42, and Jack began arguing after Jack knocked over
actress Brooke Shields. Kiefer is said to have asked Jack to apologize,
prompting the designer to push him.

Michael did not reveal which part of the claims Kiefer – who has been
charged with misdemeanor assault and arraigned until June 22 - was denying.

Meanwhile, despite initially claiming she had nothing to do with the
incident Brooke has released a statement stating she was “bumped into” by
Jack.

It reads: “While at the party she was bumped into by Jack McCollough and
Kiefer Sutherland became concerned. Kiefer has always been a gentleman in
her company. Both Jack and Kiefer are friends of Ms. Shields and she regrets
this unfortunate situation.

“A number of statements have been attributed to Ms. Shields in the media
that are neither true nor authorized. These statements were obviously made
by those who were not in attendance at the party and constitute their
version of events.”

Kiefer was jailed for 48 days in 2007 after pleading no contest to driving
under the influence (DUI). He is still on probation in Los Angeles, with the
city attorney there said to be liaising with officers in New York over the
new allegations.

Kiefer Sutherland To Be Charged For Assult

Kiefer Sutherland is set to be charged with misdemeanor assault following
his alleged attack on a fashion designer.

The ‘24’ star will reportedly hand himself into prosecutors today (05.07.09)
to face the charge, with sees him accused of headbutting Proenza Schouler
designer Jack McCollough at New York nightspot SubMercer on Monday.

It has been claimed the 42-year-old actor – who is currently serving a
three-year probation after pleading no contest to driving under the
influence (DUI) in Los Angeles in 2007, for which he was jailed for 48 days
- will be given a desk appearance ticket, which will ensure he isn’t jailed
and is able to travel before his arraignment.

A police source told the New York daily News newspaper: “When the lawyer
realized paparazzi could be sitting on his Sutherland's doorstep for two to
three weeks, suddenly he wanted to come in right away and make it all go
away.”

It has been claimed Kiefer got into an argument with Jack after he witnessed
the designer knock over actress Brooke Shields.

Kiefer allegedly asked Jack to apologize, prompting Jack to push him. Kiefer
is then said to have headbutted Jack, breaking his nose.

Brooke’s spokesperson has since insisted she was not involved in the
incident.

However, a friend of Kiefer said: “Kiefer is sorry it happened - absolutely.
It's terribly regrettable. Kiefer was provoked.”

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office is expected to get in touch with
officers in New York to determine whether Kiefer’s probation should be
withdrawn.

A spokesman for the district attorney confirmed: “We would have to decide
whether or not file a probation violation and then he could potentially face
the remainder of the time left on the count to which he entered his original
plea.

“He could go back to jail, but that would be the maximum and a lot of it is
case-specific.”

Meanwhile, a representative for designer Jack has denied he was involved in
any kind of altercation.

The spokesperson said: “Anyone who knows Jack McCollough knows that he would
not hurt a fly. All we can say at this point is that he was the victim of a
vicious, violent, unprovoked assault and that the matter is in the hands of
the authorities.”

Kiefer Sutherland Headbutted And Broke a Fashion Designer’s Nose!

The '24' star reportedly got into an altercation with Proenza Schouler
designer Jack McCollough at an after-party for New York's Metropolitan
Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala at nightspot SubMercer on Monday
night (05.04.09).

It has been claimed Kiefer approached Jack after seeing him knock actress
Brooke Shields to the ground. Kiefer reportedly asked Jack to apologize,
prompting the designer to push Kiefer. It is then alleged Kiefer headbutted
Jack.

However, Brooke's representative has denied she was involved in the
incident.

The spokesperson said: "Nothing happened to her. Jack did nothing
inappropriate. It's not clear what caused Kiefer to do what he did. Jack did
absolutely nothing to her."

Police are currently investigating the incident, and Brooke will reportedly
be interviewed by officers today.

Following the incident, Jack was taken to hospital where he is still
receiving treatment.

Kiefer, 42, was jailed for 48 days in 2007 after pleading no contest to

He is still on probation in Los Angeles following the incident.
