(Rant on) Newsflash: The recommended healthy weight gain for a woman with a normal pre-pregnancy weight is 25-35 lbs. If you put on more than that during the pregnancy, it is because your calorie intake was higher than the energy needs of yourself and your growing baby; or in other words, you got fat yourself.
You also automatically lose 19-20 lbs when you deliver the baby and in the weeks following it (baby, placenta, shrinking uterus, amniotic fluid, extra blood and body fluids). Do the math and if Britney now weighs any more than 5-16 lbs. more than she did before her pregnancy, it is either because she put on too much weight during her pregnancy or because she has put on weight since. And it looks like she’s put on more than 5-16 pounds to me.
I’m halfway through my first pregnancy now and have put on 12-15 lbs., totally determined to keep my goal of putting on 30 lbs, no more and no less. And let me just say it: I’m sick and tired of seeing my girlfriends, relatives and other women use pregnancy as an excuse to get fat and stay there. Don’t make stupid excuses for Britney to stay there either. (Rant off)
On the other hand, I think it’s perfectly fine for a woman to take about a year to lose the excess weight from the pregnancy, and it’s only been 5 months or so for her. So I give her the benefit of the doubt until then—maybe she’ll pull it together.

I can tell you I have. I am 25 and just got down to my prebody weight a year after my daughter was born. 112 pounds. I was almost 150 when I was fully pregnant.
It takes people awhile to get back to prepregnancy weight, and some never do.

This is not a house set up for an active baby. Her baby is 5 months old. Most baby’s are crawling by 8 months (my 3 all by 6 1/2). By the time they can crawl their little backs are strong and they can begin to pull themselves up and on to or over things. But they aren’t coordinated enough to balance and they certainly don’t understand danger. The staircase alone is an accident waiting to happen. Then the balcony and the water; AHHH!
