While in Miami for the Winter Music Conference Busta Rhymes dissed a gay fan for touching him outside of the 11th Street Diner and to Busta's dismay right next to the gay club Twist.
"The restaurant was packed with transvestites, gay men and drag queens, which obviously made Busta a little edgy," eyewitness Thomas Barker e-mails.
"This became evident when a young gay guy came up behind Busta and tapped him on the shoulder to congratulate the rapper on his recent comeback. Before the guy could even mutter a word, Busta turned around and repeatedly screamed, 'Why the [bleep] you touchin' me, man? Get the [bleep] away from me' . . . his two huge bodyguards then caused an even larger scene by pushing the kid away . . . Busta quietly whispered to his bodyguards, 'I hate [bleeping] faggots, man.' " Page Six

very much an asshole thing to do.

Riiiiight, cuz, um, getting tapped on the shoulder means someone wants to sleep with you? Or being touched by a gay person means that you can get that too? Whatever. When people get all bent outta shape for a little thing like that all I can say is, “Methinks they dost protest too much.”
Oh yeah, also this reminds me of when Marge Simpson got back from shopping with a gay guy and Homer Simpson asks, “He didn’t give you gay did he?!”

That really made me sad, like really. Busta Rhymes can kiss my ass. What’s the point of bodyguards if you’re a piece of vintage shit. Poor kid didn’t even do nothing wrong, now he probably just lost the gay fan base. Are you in the closet Busta…? Busta won’t come out of the closet!

yeh, like you don’t expect to see gays all over Miami, of all places.
i think the main reason some guys get freaked out by gays is they think gays want their ass, like gays guys want EVERY guy out there just b/c they’re guys. fact is most gay guys wouldn’t even hit on a guy who is known to be straight b/c it can result in them getting insulted or physically assaulted by paranoid jerks like busta and his crew.
no guy wants busta or his busted face.

Gambitgirl on 03/29 at 06:33 PM
This is such a clear case of a rapper being on the DL and not admitting he’s gay. Rumor has it he’s a top and he just can’t admit it so he’s uncomfortable around openly gay men.

I know for a fact 2 drag queens just here in NYC alone that have sucked off Bustah Rhymes, he must be like that other closet case tranny chasin asshole Eddie Murphy with his haa haa haa AIDS Jokes & bullshit homophobia.
Most of these rappers can only have sex with trannies & drag queens -any self respecting woman wants nothing to do with their fugly hateful selves especially in light of the fact that most people in close proximity to Busta end up shot to death
there’s all this talk in the Black community about men on the down low. Married or Straight identified men that have sex wih other men in secret. With people like Busta only speading more hatred , when is it ever going to be safe for Black men to come out??
Also 65% of African American households are headed by women, it makes sense that some men would want to be around another man for any kind of love & affection given there is no male father figure in the house. I am in NO WAY implying that this makes people gay , but it does shed light on the fact that some people are looking.
current estimates have 46% of Black Gay men in NYC already HIV poz.Thanx to the trend of an unending campaingn of intolerance & homophobia which furthers the “down low” trend, now Black women are the newest high risk group.
These statistics are beyond pathetic & its time to change.
thank God there are people like Kayne West finally talking some sense in regards to homophobia & the problems it causes.
Black people we as human beings have got to do better & expect more from the so called “role models” in our community.
while I dont expect these hyper macho rappers to start waving rainbow flags marching in gay pride parades but at the same time, shut up about it, if its not for you , then leave it alone. I cant think of the last time a gay person has called for the death of other rappers, y’know?
Like Shakespeare said “Me thinks thou doth protest too much”.
Living in Harlem the fucked up shit that goes down on a daily basis that folks accept as “normal” behaviour is just sickening.
Its gotta stop.
Time to Wake up Kiddies.
dont worry Bustah no gay man wants your fugly ass. Loser.

DJ Tenn, where are the scientific studies that backs up all the rubbish in your post?
P.S. Do you really feel this is the proper place to discuss “community” issues?
Posted by
Black_Latina on 03/29 at 11:56 PM
Oh, if only it were ‘rubbish”
Go to the CDC website (center for disease control) the facts & figures are all there. Believe me I wish it werent true.
sorry , I had to go there , but I got my face bashed in last summer by a group of Black Youths who called me a “faggot” when I was coming home from work minding my own bizness , recieved 5 stitches and wondered if I would ever see out my left eye again. Funny it happened the same day as the London Subway bombing. So much hatred in this world, Funny isnt it??
So every time 50 Cent, Eminem , Bustah & the rest of these numbskulls go on record about how fun it is to hate on & kill gay people, its hard for me to be quiet about it.
I usually just have a giggle about these celeb nitwits but this one hits really close to home.
Sorry I had to go there, I knew I would catch hell for it. Im sure it wont be the last time.
Where better to discuss common issues than a website where common folks go.
I see alot of people doing good & making progress , believe me , but they are being overshadowed by all the bad out there.
Im a person of mixed race that grew up in the South so if Im not hated on for one thing , it will be another. so nice to have equal opprotunity haters in this nation.
europe, anyone?

i’ve noticed that most guys really are homophobic. but what he did just coz the guy wanted to congratulate him was unexcusable. maybe he was too freaked out by then. coz most guys just tolerate them.

I am sorry for your painful incident. I don’t agree with hatred towards people. Many of us, don’t agree with the lifestyle. However, that is no reason to physically attack someone.
I wasn’t attacking you. I just feel that we should build ourselves up as a people. We have enough to combat on a day to day basis. I’m not trying to tell you what to do. But, in my opinion, discussing this issue here will fall on deaf ears. And the people that would really benefit from hearing this vital informtion wouldn’t have the chance to read it here.
I read the statistics on the CDC website and the facts are alarming. There would be a lot less problems in this world, if people would just use 10% of their brains, you know.

Black_Latina on 03/30 at 01:59 AM
Thanx for your understanding & kind post , Black Latina.
I dont expect for people to agree with everything about the “lifestyle” either. Believe me, if gays dont stop with the crystal meth & unsafe sex there arent even gonna be anymore of us out there left to hate on. We can be like other communities, our own worst enemy @ times as well.
I dont agree that its a lifestyle choice, people are just like the old Motown Garage classic song sez “I was Born this way”
Yes,I agree we have to build ourselves up & do better. All people here in this nation. We are not going to make into the 21st if we dont.
Back to Busta, when a fan approaches you , smile & say thanx, is THAT so HARD to do ? Sure entertainers are human too & have bad days , what have you , but think about it, do you think other Black entertainers from back in the day would have carried on like that?
Also, I think about wonderful, kind , uplifting artists like Sammy Davis Jr. who, speaking of South Beach Miami , less than 50 yrs ago, while headling the Fountainbleu Hotel , had to have a special permission card from the Miami Police Dept. to just be able to walk around down there @ nite, since segregation laws forbade Black folks to even be on SB after 10pm.
Gay people were at the very front lines of the Civil rights movement getting their heads knocked in by the police , firehoses & dogs sicced upon them demanding freedom & equality for all citizens.
Maybe Busta could possibly think about that the next time he yanks up the “I hate Faggots” chainsaw while standing on South Beach. Oh & BTW if you are homophobic , get the fuck outta the entertaiment industry , OK? I mean, really.
Of course that falls into the category of the
“using 10% of their brains” you mentioned earlier.
Also his stance comes from the fact that he is more than likely on the DL. These trannies he fooled with I spoke to Ive known for yrs & wouldnt have any reason to lie. I hope that just casually mentioning them on here doesnt get them killed.
Dont worry, I dont just post on here when I see issues like this I write about it anywhere. I didnt mean to get on my soapbox preachin , but enuffs enuff.
I hope you will take all you saw on the CDC website & share this info with your friends & family. Our communities are in a state of emergency, its never a bad time or place to discuss whats really goin on.
Lastly , remember when you watch movies, listen to music, look @ magazines , go clothes shopping , go to have your hair done , look for home furnishings & interiors , buy flowers for someone you love, even the very design of the home you live in, you are part of something that gay people have worked on or contributed to.
Who do you think makes our divas like Miss Ross & Mariah beautiful? Butch truck drivers?
So if you dont agree with or condone the gay lifestyle , fine, just think about how boring & colorless this world would be without us.
Thanx again for the discussion & your kindness Black Latina.

“came up behind Busta and tapped him on the shoulder”
The guy was also wrong to touch him. Not everyone likes being touched by random strangers. When I am eating I would not like someone touching me. Let me eat in peace. Just respectful. Wait till I am finished eating at least.

Good point, but that leaves me to ask another question. If a stranger can walk up to me and tap me on the shoulder…my bodyguards ain’t doin their jobs. How did the young man get a chance to do that?

I don’t see anything wrong with what Busta Rhymes did. He doesn’t like fags, so what’s the big deal? I don’t like terrorists and if Bin Laden tapped me on the shoulder, I would get mad too. Rhymes didn’t do anything wrong and maybe the kid just wanted an autograph or something and wasn’t trying to hit on Rhymes, but if your Rhymes why take the chance with some faggot touching you on your shoulder? The kid should’ve known that his action could be taken as provocative.
