Jean-Claude Van Damme Wants Bloodsport Role

Jean-Claude Van Damme wants to star in a remake of 'Bloodsport'.
The 51-year-old actor wants to start in the reboot as the trainer of Frank Dux - the martial arts star he played in the original 1988 movie - but the Hollywood star admits it is looking unlikely because the scriptwriter for the remake isn't keen on casting him in the role.
He said: "I want to be in the film as a trainer and I don't think the writer wants [me] to ... he knows that 'Bloodsport' is a big film so he wants to get credit with all of that - you know what I'm saying?"
Jean-Claude - nicknamed the Muscles from Brussels - believes he would be ideal to star in the movie because he can still perform his trademark roundhouse kick better than "anybody".
He added to NextMovie: "When I did the first 'Bloodsport. It was an independent company and [they] didn't want bankruptcy, so they sold the title all over the place - 2,3,4,5,6 'Bloodsports'.
"The remake, I would love to be in it. It's kind of painful, but maybe they'll change their minds. That would be great because I can still kick better than anybody here today."
