Jessica Simpson is back in L.A. from her Texas Thanksgiving trip. Jessica stopped by the tanning salon yesterday to get some color.







So how is Nick Lachey dealing with the breakup?

"Nick seems relieved that it's all finally out in the open," a source tells Star. "I think he feels he can now start getting on with his own life at last. He's really sad that things didn't work out between them but it hasn't been working for a very long time and its probably been torturous to keep things together for so long.

"He's feeling pretty sad at the moment but totally relieved as well. Joe Simpson probably wanted the two of them to stay married but neither Nick nor Jessica wanted to anymore. In the end I hear Nick just told Jessica that 'enough is enough, I just can't do this anymore.'"

Ashlee Simpson gives us the details on sister Jessica's state of mind. Star mag caught up with Ashlee and her boyfriend and band mate Ray Brady on their way to the airport this past Saturday.

"Jessica's doing great," Ashlee told Star. "We all had a good Thanksgiving, all the family was together and we had a wonderful time.

"We didn't even talk about Jessica's breakup from Nick; it wasn't something we wanted to dwell on. Jessica's happy and she's absolutely fine.

"The only thing that stressed Jessica out was our grandparents' worry over all the attention she's getting. Jessica spent most of the holidays trying to reassure them that she's OK and that everything is good."

I kind of really like her jacket.

Ashlee is totally stupid. By saying “my sister is totally OK after a break up” she is actually saying that she is not ok at all. If she had said “she is a little sad, but breakups are always hard” then it would have looked more real.
That sister is a total idiot.

Poor Jess she looks really sad.

Did anyone really think that they were going to stay together forever?  She was supposedly a “virgin” when she married him.  And now she’s smoking hot, probably got a little ego boost and she wants to know what else is out there.  And Nick, he probably taught her everything that she knows sexually and wants a little bit of change and experience in their sexual life.  I’m sure he wants to be taken care of.  They (at least her) need to be with other people and experience everything that comes with new relationships.  They are too young and famous.

the media kinda killed thier own favorite story with their pressure on the couple to admit they were over. now that they’re like “yes, we are done!” and press is probably like, “huh, ok. what’s the next story?”

iriegirl420 - I agree with you. I get the same feeling too about Jessica. She entered into a marriage when she seemed so inexperienced.

As for Nick - I feel for him. He will be forever linked to Jessica, married or not.

please, I don’t feel bad for them.  They put the pressure on themsleves when they decided to air the first three years of their marriage on TV.

I can’t imagine even a normal circumstance marriage (mature people etc) would survive that.

I agree with KillerKowalski - the worst part is now we have to see Jessica’s sad puss looking at the cameras for sympathy.  Wasn’t it just in the last month that she couldn’t stand the papparazzi and was flashing them the finger???  Now she is flashing her ringless finger for all to see…go figure.
