Star Jones came up with a brilliant plan to look designer even when she was only making $24,000 a year as a prosecutor. She attached designer buttons to all her moderately priced suits.

"The Chanel suits in all honesty were the Dress Barn and the Lane Bryant suits, and I would go down to Canal St. and buy the little Chanel buttons and sew them on," Star revealed as she picked up her Woman of Achievement award.

Star recently donated 50 boxes of clothes to the charity "Dress for Success" to help woman of low-income brackets look stylish at their office jobs.

These poor woman are going to think they struck gold with a box of Chanel suits - too bad they're fake! What a bummer.

Yeah, she should definitely include a note in there and let the sisters know what’s going on. Just to be nice about it. Who wants to think they are getting gold only to find out later it was fool’s gold.

Why is it that the button makes/legitimizes the dress?  So aggravating.

If I were an unemployed, down-on-my-luck, low income person, I would personally be thankful for whatever handouts came my way.

“50 boxes of clothes”.  How many suits to a box?  Say 5 on average, that’s 250 suits she had stuck in her closet gathering dust.
As long as she’s left enough clothes for her to wear so we don’t have to see her naked.

You know why I *hate* this woman? Because she never does anything unless SHE gets something out of it.  Her little suit story would have been heartwarming if I didn’t know that she was just making room in her closet for more freebies…
