Angelina Jolie reportedly offended Brad Pitt's mother by drinking at son Maddox's fifth birthday party.

Brad's family flew in from their hometown in Missouri to visit granddaughter Shiloh Nouvel but allegedly left early because they were unhappy with her behavior at the party.

Angelina is said to have barely acknowledged Brad's family and upset his mom, Jane, by having an open bar at the bash.

Neither of Brad's parents drink and they didn't approve of Angelina drinking around her and Brad's children and the other youngsters at the party.

A source told America's Star magazine: "They were the only ones not drinking and it was uncomfortable for them. To Jane, drinking is unhealthy, and she thought Angelina was intoxicated.

"Things were very tense that weekend, and they left with an even worse impression of Angelina than before. They think she is tactless and doesn't consider other peoples feelings."

The Pitt family allegedly cut their trip short after just two days, leaving on the day of the party.

Not an Angelina fan by any stretch of the imagination, but why should she have to change to please his parents?  So, they don’t think people should drink around kids?  Then don’t.  But they can’t expect everyone else, including the kids’ MOTHER to feel the same way.

Also, I highly doubt she was hammered at his birthday party.

I seriously think Brad’s parents, especially his mother, needs to get a life.  While I certainly don’t condone one getting drunk at their child’s party, I also have to wonder if in fact Angelina truly got drunk.  I would doubt it.  However, I still feel his parents are being a bit stuffy.  Anytime they have been with Angelina and Brad, all you hear are negatives coming from them.

It’s really none of their business. Brad & Angelina are both adults.

Angelina is not the type of person to try to please others. I mean she cut her own dad out of her life so surely his parents don’t mean much to her.

Somehow I really don’t believe this story..and if she had a glass of wine or so..big deal.  I can’t picture her being falling down drunk with her kids around AND his parents.  No way Jose.

I don’t buy it.  Although they don’t look happy I don’t see her as being the family lush at the kiddie’s birthday party.  And maybe his mom is the type to think even one beer or one glass of wine is “whoa” too much at a kids party.  Maybe Brad’s mom is a teetoller.

Must be a slow day for real news that this was all they could report on.  So what if Angelina had a glass of wine.  She probably needed to unwind, she’s the mother of 3 kids afterall.  I’m not saying a mother should be drinking a few around her kids or anything, but if she has nannies helping her with the kids and she wants to have one drink, that’s her prerogative.  Get a life, reporters.

Anyone who thinks Angelina is the girl next door, including Brad’s parents, are delusional.

There must had been more to this than only drinking. Perhaps she made out with her brother at the party…or with Brad’s daddy…or with Brad’s mommy…or with all of them.

Hell in my future i can see myself whipping me up a few margaritas while the kids are home. I think they (the kids) know what’s bad and i’m sure that they wouldn’t give the kids a sip. But, at the same time if i knew that something like smoking or drinking was offensive towards my inlaws, i wouldn’t be disrespectful and do it anyways in their presence. It’s not that deep to need to put alcohol in your system, just wait till later.

Angelina doesn’t give a fuck, and why should she? I really like Angie. This relationship is so going down the tubes. Can’t wait until Brad wakes up and goes, “oh shit, what did I do???”

I think Brad’s parents are still pissy about the whole Brad/Jen break-up.  They probally think poorly of Angelina for being the other woman and luring their son from he-she aniston.  So I don’t think they would be pleased with anything Angie does.

I am by no means a fan of Angelinas at all, i think she has no class and is a hipacrit but who cares if she happened to kick back and have a few drinks? As long as she had others that were sober to watch all her brats then who cares? I feel bad for brads parents though because look who they are stuck with….a wierdo.

BTW, if they really had left on the day of Maddox’s birthday just because they don’t like her, then they are the rude ones, not Angie.

This is sooo dumb, and if it’s true Brad’s parents are idiots. My family has alcohol at little kids parties, so what why not have a beer, as long as she’s not falling down drunk why should it matter, would Angelina be offended if Brad’s mom prayed in front of her? I’m sure not it’s the same thing…..

There are many people from the midwest who do not drink, and do not condone drinking. But, I really doubt that the drinking had anything to do with why they felt the wmay they did, or why they left early. I think it had more to do with them being made to feel unwelcome by Angie. I have read several times where she has insisted that Brad make his mother stop talking to Jen.  Like why is that any business of Angie’s? If she feels that insecure about it, why doesn’t she put herself out a bit to make friends with his Mom?

I think it is unfair of her to put Brad in the position of having to choose between Angie and his Mom. That is really a no win situation if I ever heard of one.

Personally, I feel that Brad’s mom has alrady made up her mind not to like Angie. Given that both Angie and Jennifer aren’t exactly the best of mates, I think Jane probably feels she needs to take sides.

Having said that, I don’t drink every but I couldn’t care less if everyone around me is tee-tolling. I think it’s hilarious. Plus there’s nothng wrong with a but of wine or even a cocktail at a party. If there was, there’d be no more imbibing at all those holiays like Christmas, Thanksgiving and Independence Day.

Oh, and here in Australia, we love out BBQ’‘s where nearly everyone (and definitely all the guys) crack open beers. Even in the presense of kids.

Whether or not they decided to not like her before is okay since I don’t, but you do not drink around kids.  Anything can happen when kids are around and you need to have your wits about you to protect them. She’s scum.

If Angelina was a single mother at home taking care of three kids without any help and was on welfare, then I would say drinking would be pretty bad, but seeing as though she was in her own house (which I’m sure is v. much babyproof) with tons of people there and nannies galore, I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t matter if she had a drink or two.

And what I’m about to say in no way means that I’m no longer Team Jolie, because I so am, but maybe Pitt’s parents should worry about what they did wrong since their son was married when he was “emotionally” cheating on his wife (not that I wouldn’t have done the same if I was married to Chinnifer). It looks like they may have missed the boat on a few things themselves. I’m just saying.
