Ashlee Simpson's father has confirmed she has had a nose job.

Joe Simpson, who manages her singing career, says the 22-year-old star
underwent rhinoplasty last year purely for health reasons.

Joe - who also manages eldest daughter Jessica - told Us Weekly magazine:
"Girls have their own ideas. Anyway, there was a real problem with her
breathing and that was cured."

It was recently claimed Ashlee - who has always refused to comment on
rumours she had plastic surgery - decided to have her nose straightened so
she could be as attractive as Jessica.

A source said: "Ashlee has always been cute but for a long time she felt
like the ugly duckling of the family compared to Jessica. Every time she
looked in the mirror, she saw a too-prominent nose, and she decided to do
something about it.

"She was thrilled with the results. She basically had the bump on her nose
shaved down."

Meanwhile, Joe claims he played no part in the breakdown of Jessica's
marriage to Nick Lachey.

The former Baptist minister denied claims he is a controlling father who
runs his daughters' love lives.

He said: "I don't tell my girls who to date or marry or what to do.

"I have nothing against Nick. But they got married very young. I told
Jessica, 'You're going to hit an age when it's all going to be clear to
you - life that is - and you'll know what you want to do.' "

Not even he believes his own bullshit.

Why on earth lie about it? The simpsons have lied so many times where the truth has been obvious and they now cant be trusted for what the say. Their word aint good. Why not just say that she was miserable with her nose so she changed it and that your thankful it went well????

“She had nose surgery to fix her breathing” is about as honest as “My band played the wrong song”.

I agree, Ms. Sleepy.  What’s wrong with just saying “I hated my nose and I changed it so I would like it better”.

I think most singers who can really sing don’t screw with their noses because it can change the quality of their voices.  But Asslee doesn’t have to worry about that.

I’m sure when Asslee said she got her nose done for her “breathing” problems, she started dancing a jig again.  She seems to do that when she’s lying or cheating.

I know a person I had worked with, she used the same excuse for her nose job.
