Britney Spears has been uninvited from a lavish ball - as rival Paris Hilton
will be in attendance.

The 'Toxic' singer was due to attend the glitzy and elegant Vienna Opera
Ball but has now been removed from the guest list due to her falling out
with the hotel heiress.

Paris, 25, is the guest of wealthy industrialist Richard Lugner and his wife
Christina who in the past have invited high profile stars in an attempt to
modernise the very traditional dance - a highlight of Austria's social
calendar.

Richard Lugner said: "Paris is a very good advertisement for the Opera
Ball."

When asked why Britney will no longer be attending, Christina Lugner said:
"They unfortunately do not get along anymore."

The two young stars were originally invited to the ball together.

Paris is believed to be receiving $1 million for her attendance.

Britney and Paris became best friends after the singer filed for divorce
last November and were seen out together every night for almost two weeks.

The pair suddenly parted ways for unknown reasons, although it is believed
Britney's record company advised her that the friendship was not good for
her image.



This guy was totally into Carmen - his wife clearly isn't an idiot.



I'm sure he'll flirt with Paris - it's already costing him a million.

I hate to say it, but I bet that Paris will look somehow classier than either Pam or Carmen did at that affair.  I remember the pictures of Pam in her ill fitting gown with her size quadruple D’s all but falling out.  She looked like a whore that someone tried to dress up - and Kid Rock was with her dressed up like a Tim Burton cartoon character. 

No big loss to not have Shitney there.

I think its disgusting that Britney was even invited to the Vienna Opera Ball. That ball is a big deal in Europe, and is attended by very classy, educated Europeans. Britney is the worst representative of Americans, and is also a sorry excuse for a human being and has no business being at that event.

I agree with janice - Britney is by far the worst representative of Americans (with Blohan and Parasite following right behind)... why was she even invited to this event in the first place? Maybe it was all part of a sick joke on the part of the organizers, a sort of “bring out the American illiterate freaks so we can have a good laugh at their expense” kind of thing… otherwise, I just don’t see it.

Fact is , Lugner invites those people to get his name into the papers. Paris has accepted because she will promote her birthday in Ischgl where she will promote wine in a can. So Paris is already a household name.
It is rumoured that Lugner wanted an actress who won an Oscar. But his daugther said she didn’t know “the one with the Oscar” and begged daddy to invite Paris.
But 1 million bucks is too much - for a person like her.

Teh millionaire and the guys who produce the wine in the can are sharing the costs. But it is pure stupidity to pay THAt woman one million bucks.
