Dolph Ludgren wants Channing Tatum to star in the 'Masters of the Universe' remake.

The 54-year-old Swedish actor thinks the 'Magic Mike' hunk would be the perfect actor to take on his original role of action hero He-Man in the reboot of the 1987 film because of his natural charm and muscular body.

Dolph told the Huffington Post: "You need somebody who's well built and charming, I suppose. And he can deliver a couple of lines of dialogue, I guess more than I had. I mean, Channing Tatum?

"I don't know that many young actors. But he's got a pretty good body. He's got a naturally athletic body which you need, unless you make the guy wear a suit, like Batman. But if you need real muscles, you need somebody who is built."

Chris Hemsworth has been suggested as a back-up and Dolph wholeheartedly agrees, saying: "Yeah! That's a good idea. That's a cool idea, yeah."

The 'Masters of the Universe' film has been in the works for years, but nothing is officially confirmed. Sony Pictures are reportedly in talks with 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' director Jon M Chu to helm the motion picture.

The film is based around the iconic child's toy range which stars He-Man as defender of the realm of Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor.
