Christina Applegate has posed nude for PETA in a bid to stop shoppers from buying fur this Christmas.

The 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' actress is pictured wearing just a pair of red gloves with green cuffs for the animal rights group's e-card.

Christina decided to make a stand and pose for the raunchy campaign because of the respect she has for animals.

She told People magazine: "My house has been basically a zoo since I was a kid. Everything I wear has dog hair all over it, and that's just the way it is!"

The 35-year-old actress also said she decided to become a vegetarian while on the set of her TV sitcom, 'Married With Children', when she was a teenager.

She added: "I realized I can't eat something that has been alive. So I stopped, and that was it. That was the last time."

The e-card reads: "Cross cruelty off your shopping list by avoiding fur coats, collars, and cuffs (unless it's fake fur of course)."

Christina is following in the footsteps of Alicia Silverstone, Alyssa Milano, Maggie Q and Dominique Swain by stripping off for the charity.

Christina is great. I love her new show and it’s getting good ratings and plenty of viewers.

Ummm…. Isn’t it a bit ironic that the fake “fur” on her gloves seems to be made of MARABOU?  (That’s turkey pin feathers for those who aren’t up on fashion fabrics…)

Hmmm…. I am pretty sure that turkeys ARE alive.  Or at least were before the company that made those gloves got a hold of them.

oh for pete’s sake, tell me you people don’t understand what she means when she says “something that was alive”? Does she need to spell it out for you. How about she doesn’t want to eat anything that can feel pain or fear? Does that make it easier to understand?
Nothing wrong with standing up for animals. Every little bit helps. A person can do their part by cutting back on eating meat, and buying meat locally rather than commercial farms. As far as fur, why not wear fake? Why should something have to suffer so a an asshole like Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce can show the world their bling?
