Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel died after consuming a lethal combination of methadone.
The cause of death was revealed by pathologist Cyril Wecht after he received the toxicology results from National Medical Services in Willow Grove, Pensylvannia yesterday (27.09.06).
He revealed: "In my opinion it's an accidental death."
The results showed Daniel, 20, had consumed a mix of methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro caused the cardiac dysrhythmia that ultimately led to his death.
He passed away in his mother's hospital room earlier this month while visiting her in the Bahamas three days after she gave birth to a baby girl, Dannielynn Hope.
Meanwhile, Anna Nicole's ex-boyfriend has demanded a DNA test to determine whether he is the father of her daughter.
Larry Birkhead's demands come a day after her lawyer, Howard K. Stern,
claimed he was Dannielynn's dad.
However, the photojournalist dismissed his statement as "laughable" telling Us Weekly: "I am not surprised he would say this but I am laughing at it.
"I have asked for a DNA test and I welcome it."
What is methadone?
• Methadone is a narcotic pain reliever, similar to morphine. Methadone also reduces withdrawal symptoms in people addicted to heroin or other narcotic drugs without causing the "high" associated with the drug addiction.
• Methadone is used as a pain reliever and as part of drug addiction detoxification and maintenance programs.

*Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons released a statement Tuesday regarding the death of his newborn daughter, Victoria Anne.
She was the baby that the organs were outside of her.
Run’s wife Justine was pregnant with Victoria throughout much of their MTV reality show “Run’s House” last season. The sex of the baby was left as a cliffhanger on the season finale.
Run was with Justine when doctors at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood New Jersey delivered the baby via c-section. According to TMZ, Victoria was born with her organs outside of her body. She died a short time later.

I still can’t believe hes gone….its such a tragedy. At least Nicole’s a bit at ease knowing what killed her son.

Something I was watching last night, can’t remember what it was, and they little thing across the bottom was saying Anna Nicoles daughter was born with her organs outside of her body. But, they could have easily mixed it up with someone else’s. I’m sure it’d not be the first mistake by someone trying to give celebrity news.

This is such a sad event. I just do not know what I would do if something happened to one of my kids. I don’t think I could handle it. My thoughts and prayers are with her. This is something that could so easily have been avoided. He seemed like such a sweet guy. I am so sad for her.

This was truly a tragic case. I’m doing a report on drug usage among teenagers and how can accidental deaths by overdose can be reduced by contacting a drug rehab facility after seeing the first signs of an addiction. It is true that an addict doesn’t know he is one until he has a near-death experience or another eye-opening event. The family or friends of an addict can try to tell him/her about their concern but all in vain. Anna Nicole-Smith died of a drug overdose as well. I would have expected her to stop using after this tragic event…
