Daryl Hannah wants to adopt.
The 46-year-old actress doesn't want to go down the same route as Angelina Jolie and Madonna and adopt from a different country, because she believes there are too many children in the US who need a home.
She said: "There are more than half a million children here in the US who need to be adopted or need homes, so-called 'hard to adopt kids' because they're not babies and come from troubled backgrounds, so I think that's probably the way I'd go."
The ardent environmentalist revealed she is often approached by celebrities wanting advice on how to 'go green'.
She said: "A couple of days ago, I was at a party at Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas' house for Al Gore to celebrate his Oscar-winning film 'An Inconvenient Truth'.
"Penelope Cruz and Leonardo DiCaprio were there and loads more stars. Melanie and Antonio's 10-year-old daughter Stella has convinced them to 'green' their houses, so I'm going to help them get solar power in their five homes and get their cars on
biodiesel."
“I don’t want to buy eco-jeans made by slave labor, or chocolate harvested by kidnapped children, any more than biofuels from slash-and-burn operations or imported from halfway around the world,” she said, stressing that individuals could affect change at home by just unplugging appliances or drying their laundry on outdoor clotheslines."

Love her comments, but can’t help noticing she’s wearing one more get-up that plays up instead of playing down her massive man shoulders.
I wish i would hang my clothes outside to dry. Maybe if i was a stay at home mom who lived in a sunny country with a big yard like those on tv, but not when i’m on the 3rd floor of an apartment building.

I’m just glad she’s going to help a child from this country..What a novel idea,as for hanging clothes, there is nothing like the smell of Spring..

UMMM can you name drop anymore… and al gore’s private jet - not GREEN… she can adopt all the babies she wants as long as she truly wants it an not just a publicity stunt bc she is getting old and loosing her looks and realizes sh never had or will have Jolies career???...
