Sean Combs is Diddy no more - at least in Britain. The musician and entertainment mogul has agreed to drop the Diddy name as part of an out-of court legal settlement with London-based music producer Richard "Diddy" Dearlove, the law firm representing Dearlove said Monday.
Combs - formerly known as Puffy and Puff Daddy - has used the moniker P. Diddy since 2001, but last year decided to be known solely as Diddy.
Dearlove launched a lawsuit for unfair competition, claiming the name change had caused confusion. The case had been due to go to the High Court next month.
"I started getting e-mails from Puerto Rican girls asking if they could be in my video and people were asking me to look at their clothing line," Dearlove was quoted as saying by The Guardian newspaper.

Sean Combs (aka diddy,p diddy,puff daddy,puffy) is so annoying. I am sick and tired of him. He cannot rap, all he does is dance around in the background of the videos. He has such an ego on him. I really don’t understand what the big deal is over him. Sure he’s obviously a smart businessman, but come on.

If Combs is some big rap impresario, and some big ‘effing deal like he thinks he is, why do so many black guys wear women’s pantyhose on their heads with pants that are falling off their asses, eh? It seems that no one thinks of YOU as an inspiration, Mr. Diddy. I see no suits, or ties, or regular hair on black youth.
Women can get knock off Balenciaga, Chanel, etc…. why can’t guys get knock off suits and nice shirts and pants like ol’ Diddeh? Or maybe dressing and acting like a dumb, violent shit is just too appealing.
