A shooting on Detroit’s northeast side early Tuesday morning has left a well known Detroit rapper dead and another man injured. The shooting occurred on 8 Mile Rd. Rap artist Proof and another man were both shot, Proof fatally, at the Triple C club, around 4:30 a.m. Police are investigating the scene, and there has been word yet of suspects or motives.

Proof is a member of the rap group D12, and a close friend of Eminem’s.

It has been reported that Proof was the best man at Eminem’s recent wedding to Kim Mathers. 7 Local News

Is he the guy that the actor on ER (Mikel?) portrayed in the movie 8 Mile? I’ve never seen it all the way through, but I recall that the character with locks (dreds) was Eminem’s best friend. Whew! Sad either way.

Watch Eminem’s video of ‘Like Toy Soldiers’ and tell me that the man who gets shot in matrix stylee, fights for his life on a hospital bed with blood spewin everywhere, eventually dies…a blood stained eminem throws a table over and attends a funeral with the rest of the D12 members also at the funeral…..Yes, that was all played by PROOF who kinda took his dead role a bit too seriously. RIP tho, i feel bad 4 em and Hip Hop right now. Oh the hurt!

This is so sickening. Proof was not about violence. He was not your typical rapper. In fact, he talked about other rappers that glorified violence and selling drugs in their music. I hate Detroit. So many young punks in Detroit are so jealous and envious of the successful people. Proof was a good person, and he will be missed. He was very well liked. He didn’t deserve that.

The police are saying that Proof fired the first shot of the gun fight that got him killed. He shot a man in his head. Not to mention the bar that he was at was operating illegally after hours. Hmm.
It sounds like he was a fantastic role model to me…

The police are very corrupt in Detroit. A few years ago they arrested the wrong guy for a fire works shooting. And tried to get the guy to confess to something he didn’t do, stating they had evidence and eye witnesses (which they did not). It was all a lie, and they never found the real perpetrator. Someone is trying to protect their butt here. Trust me, my husband and many of my friends knew him personally for years. He was not capable of that type of behavior. As far as afterhours, you’ve never raved or anything nunya?
