Alanis Morissette has been sent a butt-shaped cake by Fergie.
The Canadian singer has recorded a moody, down-beat version of the Black
Eyed Peas' hit 'My Humps' and the video - in which she dresses up as Fergie
and shakes her 'hump' before beating up gangster-style men - has become a
You Tube sensation.
Fergie thinks the song and promo are hilarious and wanted to show Alanis her
appreciation with the rude calorific treat.
A source said: "Fergie thought the video was brilliant. She sent Alanis a
cake in the shape of a derriere."
Rosa Leung, 52, of Los Angeles bakery Exotic Cakes, who created the unusual
treat, said: "A note on the flesh-coloured cake read, 'Alanis, you're a
genius. Love, Fergie.' "
The bakery delivered the cake to Alanis last Friday (04.06.07).
I am sure that Fergie thought it was hilarious. Hilarious that someone is making fun of her song? The Alanis song is boring but the video I give a thumbs up…too funny.
I have to say though, Ferg was good in “Grindhouse” (Tarantino and Rodriguez are geniuses, the year and a half wait was worth it). Any movie involving her getting eaten by a mob of zombies is good. Good times.
i think it’s awesome Fergie took the joke so well, that video was better than the original. at least she has a sense of humor about herself and her silly music.
unlike Coolio, who threatened to beat up Weird All Yankovic for parodying his “Gangster Paradise.” fact is Weird All actually contacted Coolio and his reps and asked if it was Ok and they alright…but then Coolio decided to try and acvt thuggy and threaten to beat up a white man with an accordian to look tough after “Amish Paradise” turned out better than his song.
Its great that Fergie took it well…i also like the idea of the butt shaped cake! Different & cute!
I must say thou i hate Alanis’ version…it hurts my ears to even hear her sing!
Alanis’s song is awesome. Fergie’s was a forgettable mess. That video is the funniest damn thing I have seen in a while. I love the juxtaposition of the different “gangsters” inherent in each song.
I thought it was a great parody. Coming from a women with no backside (Alanis)- to a women with a backside (Fergie) and not afraid to show it- pretty funny.
