Nicole Kidman allegedly had a clause written into her prenuptial agreement with Keith Urban that he had to go to rehab if he started drinking or taking drugs again - on the insistence of ex-husband Tom Cruise.

According to reports, country music star Keith did not check himself into rehab to be treated for alcohol addition voluntarily last month, but because of a legal obligation in his prenup specified by Tom to protect his children with Nicole.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Nicole's lawyer put this clause in to demonstrate to Tom that Keith's past problems wouldn't affect the kids."

The 39-year-old 'Cold Mountain actress has two adopted children with Tom, Connor, 11, and Isabella, 13.

Since Nicole remarried she has not seen much of the children as they have spent most of their time with Tom and his new fiancée Katie Holmes.
Nicole has also had to put her baby plans on hold since Keith was admitted to rehab.

A source said: "Nicole will not entertain plans for kids until she is sure Keith is back on track and clean again. They are both very much in love and have often talked about starting a family but all that has been pushed aside while he deals with his problem. She already has two much-loved children and while she's mothering Keith she's hardly going to be in a good position to have more."

The couple married this summer and Nicole has made no secret that she would like to have a baby.

She said: "I'd like to give birth to a baby. I'd feel blessed if that was given to me."

Now Cruise thinks he’s Perry Mason.  What a jerk.

I don’t think it’s jerky to want to protect your children.  Those kids live with Nicole and Keith and whatever goes on in that house affects them.  I love Keith Urban as much as I love DAS, so this is truely a sad story for me to read.  I hope he pulls through this so he and Nicole can get to makin’ babies.  They will be so cute!

Nothing wrong with wanting to protect your kids but it sort of shows just another example of Tom wanting to be in control of everything and everyone.

Sorry but I don’t see a bright & sunny future for Nicole and Keith.  He relapsed while partying w/ friend Beck-  just seems like he will not be able to walk away from his old life 100%.  And what is up w/ nicole not seeing those kids since getting married.  If I was their mother, you’d have to drag me away from them kicking and screaming.  Maybe she should concentrate on her botox addiction and not on starting a family.

I love Keith Urban to death but he has to realize he is married and has stepkids now. It is time for his ass to grow up and be a good role model for them kids.

Call me crazy but for the life of me I don’t know how you can call yourself a mother yet not see your kids fo months on end… can anyone explain this to me?  I just don’t get it…

She’s weird amd he’s a druggie. And I agree, Tom Cruise is a control(ling) freak. But isn’t Beck a Scientologist as well? When I found that out, I stopped listening to his music. He shouldn’t be out partying with Keith if he is, they don’t use drugs or alcohol supposedly.
