Jack Nicholson is planning to knock down Marlon Brando’s old house – it has
been reported.
The ‘Shining’ actor – who bought the late ‘Godfather’ star’s home shortly
after his death two years ago – is said to be planning to demolish it and
turn the site into a giant flowerbed.
Nicholson originally bought the building to respect Brando’s memory as one
of Hollywood’s greatest stars and to maintain it for the late actor’s
children.
The actor now apparently wants to plant frangipani flowers on the site of
the $6.5 million property on Los Angeles’ notorious Mulholland Drive.
Brando had named the house after frangipani yellow flowers, which serve as a
symbol for Buddhism.

According to British newspaper The Sunday Times, the ‘As Good as it Gets’
actor made the decision because restoring the “derelict” house would be too
expensive.
Nicholson will star in his first film for three years - ‘The Departed’ to be
released later this year.
Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film is a remake of Chinese hit movie and
also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg, Ray
Winstone and Alec Baldwin.
If he bought it he can do whatever he wants with it. It’s not a freakin’ shrine…

True Marvin, and i’m sure a field of frangipani flowers will be lovely, but a $6.5 million flowerbed? Yeesh, some people have more money than they know what to do with…

Wow that’s a lot of flowers maybe he can build a park to go along with it.

If the house wasn’t deemed a historic landmark or something, big deal ? Times change. If Brando has a problem with it, he can haunt Jack Nicholson, if he dares.

Restoring the house would be “too expensive”, but he’s going to spend 6.5 million on a freakin flowerbed???!!!

Oops, my bad. He’s not spending 6.5 million, the property is worth 6.5 million.

Unless it is a certified landmark, Jack can do whatever he wants.

Wasn’t Brando’s house the one where his son Christian shot his sister Cheyenne’s lover, Dag something? That was a sad tale as Cheyenne eventually committed suicide - in Tahiti if I’m correct. Maybe the damn place needs to be torn down.

I think he can do what he wants if he bought it. Marlon Brando is one of the greatest actor of all time, may he rest in peace. He may have given Jack *in my best Brando voice* “an offer he couldn’t refuse”
