"Godfather of Soul"James Brown remained the hardest-working man in show business to the end, telling friends from his hospital bed that he'd be in Times Square on New Year's Eve, even though he had pneumonia. His heart gave out a few hours later, on Christmas morning.

All Christmas day, famous fans from Mick Jagger to Snoop Dogg to the Rev. Al Sharpton shared memories of their mentor and idol, while lesser-known fans left candles on Brown's Hollywood Walk of Fame star in Los Angeles and streamed to his statue in his boyhood hometown of Augusta, Ga., piling mementos and flowers at its base.

"Y'all lost the Godfather of Soul, but I lost my father. I know the whole world loved him just as much as we loved him, so we're not mourning by ourselves," Brown's daughter Venisha Brown told the Augusta Chronicle as she stood near the statue, fighting back tears.

The 73-year-old pompadoured dynamo, whose classic singles include "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" and "I Got You (I Feel Good)," died of heart failure less than two days after he had been hospitalized with pneumonia and only three days after leading his annual holiday toy giveaway in Augusta.

"I ain't got the same energy," Brown had told the New York Post a week earlier as he discussed his planned concert tour, "but I'm sharper. Father Time, knowledge and prayer -- I pray a lot," Brown had said. He described himself as "like Will Rogers: I love everybody. So this is not a hard job for me."

Rest in peace, Mr. Brown. You are truly a legend.

There was, and always will be, only one James Brown.  A mentor to many legends in the music business today.

You know all of you that are all of this negative crap about James Brown 1. Remind me never to invite you to a funeral or 2.Have you write a eulogy for ANYBODY that wasn’t a freakin’ saint!

While it might be true that James Brown physically abused his wife and did some other terrible things in his life - that doesn’t mean that we should at least show SOME kind of respect in the wake of his death.  Not to get too religious here-but the Bible says that ALL men have sinned and come short of the glory of God and there is not ONE man that doeth good and seeks righteousness on the Earth - so before you, me or anybody start yelping about all the wrong someone had done in their life after they die-let’s make sure that our records are blemish free and no one will bring up some of the stupid crap we did when were living when we die.

And by the way…where is the proof that Michael Jackson raped or molested ANY children?  All the so called allegations that were brought up about him were found out to be mostly made-up lies…and yeah…we can say “well…why did he pay them off?”...but the other question should be..why did they take the money?  If someone truly molested/raped my child, no amount of money would be enough for the emotional and physical damage that was done.  He/she would have to go to prison.  The family of the first “victim” seemed very willing to take the money and run.  Hmmmmm….wonder why?

I complete agree that Michale Jackson has some serious issues and mental problems going on.  I personally don’t think he needs any children, not because I think he’s a pedophile, but because I think that he’s very confused about who he is and has some self-hating mind stuff he needs to work out and he can’t really be a good parent while having all of that stuff in his brain. 

I don’t mean to nor do I think I sound high and mighty.  I just try to remember how at any time any one of us can be wrongfully accused of something and no matter if we’re found innocent later..people will always have it in their minds that you are guilty and will treat you accordingly…so I try very hard not to say someone is guilty or not just because everyone else says so or they might be kind-of “weird” so of course they must be guilty.  It’s been my experience that it’s usually the so-called normal, unassuming ones that are the most crooked of all! And if I’m still considered to be “rambling” then oh well….may God bless you!

BTW…Right now I WISH I was his laywer!  With all the money they made off of him, I would be in the Bahamas somewhere right now instead of freezin’ my petunias off here at work with their “energy effiencey” (too cheap to turn up the heat!) policy!
