Jessica Simpson is in talks to star in a remake of ‘Working Girl’.

The ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ actress is desperate to land her first starring role
in a film and has her sights set on playing Tess McGill – the role which won
Melanie Griffith an Oscar in the original 1988 movie.

Her spokesperson told the New York Daily News: “It is one of the scripts
Jessica is considering.”

In ‘Working Girl’ Tess McGill is a fresh-faced secretary with big dreams of
one day becoming the boss - and the 25-year-old blonde is convinced this is
the perfect role for her to make her mark in Hollywood.

Meanwhile speculation about the singer-turned-actress’ relationship with
‘Scrubs’ Zach Braff is heating up.

The couple were seen flirting earlier this month at Hamptons nightclub ‘Pink
Elephant’ and also in Manhattan’s hotspot Bungalow 8, reports Star Magazine.

I’m sure she was never even offered the role to consider, she can’t act to save her flat azz. The only roles I can see her in would be Crissy from Three’s Company or a douche commercial “my daddy says I smell yummy down there!!”

She is perfect to play a dumb blond; but there is actual acting involved (uhm). She has to have a redemptive (smart) quality in that role too. She is no Reece Witherspoon!

I am glad she loves food as much as I do! But an eating disorder is a disorder of the mind; ano’s and bulimics love food just as much. They dream of food…THEY WANT IT! Also, she is lying about her breast being a size 38DD…she’s only about a 36B or 34D.

Why the fuck are they remaking Working Girl? That’s a great movie as is! I don’t need to see this chump in the redo!

Isn’t there anyone in Hollywood with an original thought in their heads?  All they keep doing is remaking good movies but turning them into complete crap.  Come on now!  As for JS as an actress I choose not to comment on grounds that it’s too easy to go on a hate-filled rampage.

I agree luvbean_xo - cant someone write something new?  why do we have to keep reinventing the wheel?  Maybe it’s because no one today has enough talent to do something new?

What’s with the magazine spread about her and her fitness guru?  I maximized the picture to read the caption, it’s talking about her training for Dukes of Hazzard!  That is old stuff, we’ve seen her pics LATELY and she does not look to be taking too much interest in her figure. 

I wonder what REAL actresses think about the pop stars contemplating scripts!

WHY?!? “Working Girl” was such a great movie, Melanie Griffith was phenominal(sp) in that, why is Jessica Simpson of all people is considering doing a fucking re-make to it? Why not leave it alone? I need to start a petition to Hollywood to stop making horrible re-makes to great projects, they need to be original with their ideas cause this has got to stop

Working Girl was a well-written and well-acted movie, therefore they must remake it and dumb it down to today’s standards. Look what they did to “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”- remade it as a slapstick comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Mac! It’s not surprising that they would want Jessica for a remake of this one. Lordy help us all. Joe Simpson seriously gives me the creeps. So called “preacher” my ass.

Her mark in hollywood is already screwed so there’s no trying to fix it. I think she should lay low for like 6 months and stop trying to land these roles that she is not talented for.

I think she’s a cute girl but she’s let daddy ruin her and he’s trying to get her more and more things so he can have more and more money.  It’s all about him and guess he wants to kiss up to them so they won’t tell what a real pervert he is. I just got sick thinking about him.

WOMEN are supposed to have CURVES thats what makes us feminine and sexy as hell!! From what i know and hear, a women is more appealing when shes got some curves instead of bones!!

Ew as if Jessica could ever replace Melanie as the awesome and incredibly determined Tess McGill. I mean let’s not even talk about the crappy songs they would pick out for the soundtrack. You can’t do much better than Carly’s Let the River Flow.
